Okay, so post show adrenaline was certainly still coursing through Eddie’s veins. He could feel how awkward Steve felt in the hug. He just assumed, after everything they’d been through… No, he was right. This was correct way up Hawkins. Eddie immediately removed himself from Steve. Guess the guy still had some kind of popular rep to uphold or something.
Eddie slowly turned on his heel to look around the bar, barely anyone inside, sticky floors with tables to match, peeling paint… yeah sure, this is exactly where Steve Harrington’s would come for a drink. Still, he did come here. He accepted the on the house beer, and took quite the thirsty drink from it, wincing a little at it’s bitterness. Eddie successfully managed to hold back the knowing smile that Steve was lying but he couldn’t work out why Steve would come here.
“We don’t just roll dice.” he sniggered at the man, letting the bottle tip rest against his lower lip “We just don’t like the upbeat Jock kind of music that Hawkins loves. Could you imagine a guitar solo during a big game? Would definitely be an improvement.” his eyes glazed over as he was already thinking about what song he’d choose to play over the top before meeting Steve’s eyes once more “Though, you’d probably be against that, y’know being an ex-jock and all.”

It wasn’t like Steve didn’t like Eddie. Sure, his initial feelings toward him weren’t totally kind, but he’d gotten to know him a lot better since then. Steve actually had a lot of respect and admiration for Eddie. Certainly more than he was willing to let on. He had no problem hanging out with the so-called “losers” anymore. Really, Steve had no idea what his deal was. Eddie just... frightened him. But... not in a bad way? He didn’t know what to think, because whatever Eddie did to him was something... NEW.
His eyes followed Eddie’s as he looked around the bar. Steve hadn’t noticed how empty it had gotten. Not that it was ever very full, but clearly what little audience was there to actually watch had left and only the full time patrons remained. He felt out of place and he was certain that Eddie could tell. So he decided to give in the charade just a little. He didn’t quite relax, but he did allow himself to sit down at the bar where Eddie was and order himself a beer.
A smile did appear on Steve’s face as Eddie started to ramble on, shaking his head at the mention that he’d hate it. “Nah, man, I think it’s pretty cool,” his voice was low, as if he was divulging a secret. “And hey, sometimes they play that Queen song at the pep rallies. Y’know, “We will, we will rock you”’, he partially sang, “There’s a pretty rad guitar solo in that.” Steve didn’t know too much about music. He typically listened to whatever was on the local station, but he wouldn’t necessarily call himself a dedicated FAN.
“You... play any Queen? Or is it all like... loud death music.”
