If you’re reading this, it means you’re curious about Empire State and that you might be interested in making this group your home in the RP world. You don’t know how excited we are that you’re here!
While you’ll find all of the information that you might need within our blogs and Tumblr, we’d like to take this chance to tell you how pumped we are that you are considering coming to New York with us. Our main goal is to build a family type of atmosphere with writers who want to create storylines that feed not just the muse, but the soul – and maybe even make a few great friends along the way.
If that sounds like your cup of tea – do me a favor, will ya? Head on over to our guidelines, give them a read, sign your pretty little name on that dotted line, and then pack your bags! We cannot wait to meet you in this city that we all love so much.
Welcome to New York! It’s been waiting for you.
Below are plot bunnies that we encourage you to use as a base for storylines with other members of the group! To submit a plot bunny for points, just comment on your team leader’s blog.
Horror/Thriller
Scream: There is a killer running around in your town. Muse A and Muse B are both receiving phone calls from the killer, along with their neighbors and friends. One by one, people around them are getting killed. Will they be able to defeat the killer, or will he get away and leave them constantly looking over their shoulders?
Friday the 13th: Muse A and Muse B are going camping together. The area they decide on has a history. A long time ago, a man went on a killing spree and was never found. Every summer there are more murders and sightings of the man. Will Muse A and Muse B have a safe trip, or will they run into the killer?

Online Creep: Muse A and Muse B are both talking to the same person online. They are both asked to meet up with the person separately. When they show up, they have a decent time with said person – until they wake up feeling hungover and realize they were drugged, now stuck together in a basement. Will Muse A and Muse B be able to put their heads together and escape from the creep? Will this help them form a friendship through the shared experience?
Haunted Museum: Muse A and Muse B decide to check out a haunted museum together. They have a good time checking out all of the so-called haunted items. From that point, scary and terrible things continue to keep happening to them. What are they going to do now?

They are forced to make horrible decisions, or get killed. How will they make it out of the house alive?

Will they keep their feelings secret, or will this turn into a real relationship?

You will find descriptions of New York’s five boroughs below. Please consider which region your character would best fit in. When auditioning, please also be sure that there is an open spot in the borough before you send in your form. You can also check out our residents and where they live HERE.
THE BRONX // 06/06 – FULL CAPACITY
Residents of The Bronx have a reputation for being tough, loud, and proud. The Bronx is probably best known for Yankee Stadium, the home field of the New York Yankees baseball team. Dating from 1899, the vast Bronx Zoo houses hundreds of species of animals. Nearby, the sprawling New York Botanical Garden features a landmark greenhouse with rainforest and cactus displays. By the Hudson River, Wave Hill is a landscaped public garden with wooded paths and a cultural center.
BROOKLYN // 05/06
The Brooklyn borough has been gaining in popularity over the years as it has become the place for “hipsters and party-goers.” It is co-extensive with Kings County and home to Coney Island and the Brooklyn Bridge. It is the most populous county in the state, the second-most densely populated county in the United States, and New York City's most populous borough, with an estimated 2,648,403 residents in 2020.
MANHATTAN // 06/06 – FULL CAPACITY
Manhattan is considered the classic upscale New York City experience. It is also the most densely populated of NYC’s five boroughs. It's mostly made up of Manhattan Island, bounded by the Hudson, East, and Harlem rivers. Among the world’s major commercial, financial, and cultural centers, it’s the heart of “the Big Apple.” Its iconic sites include skyscrapers such as the Empire State Building, neon-lit Times Square, and the theaters of Broadway.
QUEENS // 05/06
Queens has long been called “the most diverse location on earth” – especially in terms of people and food. It is on Long Island across the East River from Manhattan. Flushing Meadows Corona Park, with the Unisphere, a 12-story 1964 World's Fair globe sculpture, hosts the annual U.S. Open tennis tournament. The park’s Queens Museum is known for the "Panorama," a building-for-building model of New York City. Nearby, Citi Field is the Mets' home stadium.
STATEN ISLAND // 05/06
Staten Island is known for its parks, beaches, and strong Italian-American culture. It is the southernmost of New York City's five boroughs. It is connected to Lower Manhattan via the Staten Island Ferry, which runs across New York Harbor. Staten Island Zoo is home to kangaroos, birds of prey, and snakes. The Snug Harbor Cultural Center and Botanical Garden features flower beds, Greek revival buildings and art galleries. Its grounds also include the Staten Island Children’s Museum.
