In another timeline where the events played up to where Nanoko supposedly dies, except she did died, causing Teddie to leave the group without telling anyone. He wander for a bit until he decided to say his final goodbyes to them, but he accidentally saw his friends get murdered by Adachi, who was behind all the murders in Inaba. Realizing he couldn't save them either, he was in too much grief that he ended up destroying everything on earth. Unknown time pass as he wander on the wasteland he caused on earth until he met someone, who claimed that Teddie can be useful for something related to being an shadow.

An shadow who was once part of the investigation team, is now just a semi former of himself. While he wouldn't harm anyone unless feeling provoked, he would asks question that would seem to be just curiosity, yet underneath from the shadows of himself is find whatever pain someone has and inflicts said pain more. The reverse can happen to ease the pain instead.
