MC is very much in a denial stage about her intense feelings for Caleb and she has an argument with him about wanting to see someone. Even though his blood is boiling he lets her go, but follows her in case something happens or he is needed for whatever reason.

As she's with this other guy she's not relaxed and can't clear her mind, glancing every now and then at the bracelet on her wrist (a gift from Caleb). In the middle of kissing him she breathes out Caleb's name and pushes the guy away immediately. She sits there stunned and holds her wrist in her hand a moment before getting up and leaving without another word.
Caleb receives a text from MC asking for him to pick her up but he's already there waiting for her in front of the apartment building when she gets outside. They drive home in silence, a palpable tension between them.

The silence continues when they're home. Dinner goes by, only glancing at each other briefly before looking away. Caleb excuses himself to his room while MC goes to take a shower. She's forced to realize just how deep her desire for him goes.

When she's finished, MC puts on her nightgown and walks down the hall to her room but she hesitates. Instead, she sneaks into Caleb's room where he appears to be sleeping. She approaches him and gently brushes the hair away from his forehead, drifting her finger down the bridge of his nose and then across his lips. She pulls her hand away and goes to hurry out but the door slams shut. Her heart pounding, she turns to see Caleb sitting up, fully awake, on the side of the bed.
He pulls her over with his Evol and she only half-tries to resist it. They stare with heated gazes at each other before giving in and having at each other with ferocious desperation.
