Hi I'm Merlin and I use He/They pronouns! I'm a Jewish (Karaite), Disabled, and Indigenous American (Melungeon) 2 spirit artist who is so tired of the lack of diversity in fanfic so I'm putting my not great writing out cause it's better than nothing.

thats not what it means, that’s not what it’s ever meant

two spirit is an pan-tribal term coined by indigenous people in 1990, for indigenous people, to replace the term berdache, an offensive term that white settlers applied to indigenous people that fell outside of the western lens of gender and sexuality

two spirit isnt a "native version of nonbinary" because two spirit doesnt inherently mean someone is nonbinary. some of us are, but so many two spirited people arent. many people in our community also choose specifically not to label themselves with terms like nonbinary, gay, bisexual, etc, and solely use two spirit or another term from their tribe or language

we can be anything and everything and nothing you've ever imagined

to say its a "native version of nonbinary" is not just inaccurate, it's a complete erasure of a massive part of our community

I would love to talk about headcanoning more characters as trans masc w/ phalloplasty. Particularly Robby. I think he waited it out for a while, just to see if the procedures would advance a little bit more, by the time he actually bites the bullet and takes time off to get his surgeries done he’s either approaching his 50’s or already well into them. He’s very pleased with how his skin graft site heals, every time he sees that rectangular scar on his thigh he gets a sense of relief that he’s finally taken this step in his transition (he went w/ the thigh for the graft sight because he’s more stealth than maybe he wants to be. Part of him wants to be out to anyone and everyone, he wants to be brave enough to be that kind of role model for other queer kids in the medical cal field, but— he thinks of getting the graft from his forearm, thinks of rolling up his sleeves at work, and thinks of all the questions he’ll get from patients and coworkers he’s not all *that* close with. It gives him enough anxiety to opt for the thigh, no one at work will ever have any reason to see his thigh).

And ofc I have to make this Rabbot too. Supportive boyfriend/husband Jack who helps with the long healing process, he’s very well versed on the kind of care that needs to be done because he took the time on his own to research it, and he requests a detailed report on how everything is operating when Robby comes back from taking a piss.

The first time they’re able to have sex after the surgery is so euphoric for Robby, and the first time he gets to be *in* Jack, not just with a strap on, and the first time he actually gets sensation from it when the nerves start reconnecting.. he is so over the moon about it

Like they tried to change Reblogs and people rightfully got up in arms, this is a LOT worse. In order to have access to any sort of thing dubbed mature, and We haveALL seen what they think is mature, Everything from a black and white photo of a black woman's arm, to posts about IUD recalls, to a nude painted by a 17th century artist, to anything involving the word Trans; you have to send your personal information to a third party site that WILL get hacked, and you will be doxxed. That's bad enough!!!!!!!! But the entire idea of needing permission from state authorities to access anything labeled mature by our friendly AI overlords is some fucking Boll shit. Noah doesn't really have a SM presence because he doesn't post all that often; he is a scroller. I know a lot of people in my own life like this and there's a lot of celebrities like this as well. It's how they maintain privacy and we need to respect that (Andy Samberg is another celebrity scroller who comes to mind. Ironic that he's also Jewish and also does everything he can to protect his privacy while also being a human rights activist). A Zionist happens to be Jewish. A Christian Nationalist happens to be Christian. But one does not necessitate the other. (Plus, I know of Zionists who aren't even Jewish. The point that I am making is that those of you who found out Noah is Jewish made a snap judgment in discrimination not far off of how racists look and see POC. You grouped all Jewish people together and hated him the moment you realized he wasn't just descended from Jewish ancestry but actually practicing, even if he wasn't fully submerged in it, and when he said he wanted to open himself more to his religion, you attacked harder. He didn't toss his culture or religion away like you wanted him to thus he became your enemy.

Noah has always been a human rights activist and he has always strove to better himself through education and learning. He is not infallible and he knows it. Through the glimpses we get to see on SM, which are the small windows in his scrolling and liking videos, we can see what he believes and what he supports.

I would love to hear more about Simon's autistic kid but my eyes keep dropping to Rabbot Horror Picture Show like magnets. Please expand on either or both! 💜

Ok so for Simon's autistic kid I basically had him have a one night stand in a desperate moment that then led to said one night stand showing up 9 months later going hey you have a hid bye and now he's a dad. He ends up with a level 2 autistic kid who's completely non speaking. I basically made said kid me but better accommodated. It's essentially him just learning everything possible to help his kid and the guys coming and starting to also be caretakers cause he doesn't know what he's doing and desperately needs others to help him out along the way.

The Rocky Horror one I randomly thought of based on my parents actually. I imagined someone (Dennis) finding an old box of tapes and pictures which ended up being them at a Rocky Horror fan interaction showing with Jack as Rocky and Robby and Frank n Furter. He obviously shows the pittlings the tape of them at the show doing the Time Warp in which only Trinity actually knows what the play even is. They all end up going to a showing eventually but I haven't decided if Jack and Robby also go and are in it or if they go in it.

that “negative kudos” poll really got me lol i have a full time job and a family. do you know what that means lol. I don’t think many people know what that means? it means i have maybe 1 hour MAYBE 2 hours a day that are mine unless i sacrifice sleep. and i use them to write fic most of the time and then i chose to post it online. And there is a subset of people that exists out there that thinks they can and should be able to publicly dislike or negative kudos your fic if they don’t like it instead of just continuing to scroll or hitting back. man no wonder so many people are so easily turning to AI, this unfeeling unflinching thing that just gives and gives more and more slop but who cares about the quality or the person who made it as long as you can just demand more and more and be given more and more. Fic and fanart are not products, you do not get to “review” them. We call it commenting because it’s not a review. And kudos doesn’t reflect on quality, it means thank you for sharing. if you feel the need to complain about something someone used their precious and rare and still valuable time to create for you for free, keep scrolling or literally just die
