I started crocheting not too long ago and want to keep track of / share what I've made

The Youtube channel ComplicatedKnots has multiple frog patterns but for this little guy I used the mini pattern.

This time I didn't think French knots would do the trick when it came to the eyes so I crocheted a little black circle instead and even stitched on a bit of white to make them look more alive.

Also: I used a really old skein on yarn that I had lying around (at least 10 years old) and I spent multiple days untangling it before I could even start using it

What I learned:

- it is true what they say about black yarn: it was really hard to see the stitches

- a stitch marker in the first stitch of the magic ring helped though

- i really like how the eyes came out and will definitely use this technique in the future

Since I still couldn't find my pins I decided to leave out the legs from this pig pattern (also by ComplicatedKnots on YouTube) and switch them out with popcorn stitches instead. So I made a fat little piggy which I don't see any downside off.

What I learned:

- if you don't feel like sewing on additional parts you might be able to stitch them on directly if you're willing to change the way they look

- i love the way the pattern uses backpost stitches for the rim of the nose and I'm gonna remember that technique

This bear pattern is from ComplicatedKnots on YouTube. I've been using scrap yarn and I don't have any brown so I accidentally created a polar bear. The legs don't look that great because I couldn't find my pins so I used stitch markers to hold them in place while I sewed them on (note to self: that's a bad idea). What I am pretty proud of is that I was brave enough to alter the pattern a little (I added a few rows of single crochet between the head and the shoulders to create a neck. I know that's not actually a big deal but since it's only the second amigurumi I ever made it felt huge)

What I've learned:

- taking the time to pin pieces on is absolutely worth it

- adding or leaving out rows of single crochet is totally fine

This little snake was made using a pattern from ComplicatedKnots on YouTube. It was my first time making amigurumi so I made a couple mistakes but I'm still very proud of the result. I also looked up how to make a French knot for the eyes and for those I also think that wasn't bad for my first.

What I've learned:

- tiny rows are really fiddly to work with

- stitch markers are my new best friend

- i should count my stitches more often than I thought

- tiny mistakes are not that bad
