hi! i have only just come across you and that aforementioned good omens fic. i have to say that i really don’t expect an update/ending (though i cant say i don’t want one) but i do want to say you’re an incredible writer and i don’t think i’ve been more invested in a fic before. (also had no clue it was unfinished until i got to that last chapter. hence why i followed you here) i am honestly enamoured with how you manage to display emotions and details and everything through your writing. and also how you came up with the plot.

i really hope you’re doing well, and life has been going okay for you. i saw that last post, i do hope you're alright, unrelated to the fic. you’re truly a wonderful writer.

Hi - I'm not super active on this tumblr account anymore (hence why it took a month for me to see your message, even the one i'm "currently" using is really off and on), but I just wanted to reply and say thank you so much, this is really so sweet and very appreciated.

My goal is still to one day finish LtLO but I have no idea when that will happen. I love my co-writer very much, but we have drifted apart and S2 didn't bring us back together like I had hoped it might. They may still be down to pick it back up, but I haven't wanted to pressure them. I have considered trying to pick it back up on my own and if it comes down to that, I hope that I do - I am currently in a hardcore perfection paralysis when it comes to writing and I'm having a hard time writing just about ANYTHING right now, whether LtLO or for the fandoms I'm more active in currently.

I do know that if/when I do manage to pick it back up, I will not be publishing anything until I at least have a draft of all the remaining chapters. I would hate to pick it back up for a few chapters and then drop off the face of the earth again without finishing it, so if/when I/we do start updating again, you can at least rest assured that it won't be dropped a second time.

As for me, I'm having a rough go of it at the moment when it comes to work/health (both mine and my cat's), and just existing in general, which is also a factor, but I so genuinely appreciate you asking after me. Hopefully things will start looking up soon <3

tl;dr: no idea when LtLO will be finished, but I hope one day it will be.

Hello, sorry for bothering you but you seem to have disappeared and I can't help but worry. I know it's not my buisness but are you alright?

hey - i don't know when this ask was sent, so i apologize for the potentially very late response. i haven't logged into this account in a good two years, and i did disappear from fandom for awhile. the pandemic has been rough (understatement of the decade) and i've been coming to terms with my relatively new autism diagnosis/learning new coping skills, as well as struggling with work (even more so now that we're transitioning back to in person against my better judgement). otherwise, i am okay though.

i'm sorry to anyone who is waiting on leave the light on updates. i see all of your comments and they make my day every time i see them to know that people are still loving the fic. it really means so much to me. my co-writer and i drifted apart over the pandemic as our own fandom hyperfixations shifted in different directions. i still really want to finish leave the light on, but it doesn't feel right to do so on my own - while there was some overlap, i was very much the azra voice, and they were very much the crowley voice and i think what made that fic what it was (and hopefully will be in the future) was us working together.

i've been trying to set no expectations for season two of the show, but i have secretly been hoping that when it comes out, it might bring us back together so we can finish the fic.

in the meantime, please know how grateful i am for all the kind words people are still leaving in the comments, and that i really would like to finish the fic if my co-writer and i can get back in the fandom together. otherwise, i'm very active in the dirk gently's holistic detective agency fandom, so if that is of any interest to you, i have a new account over at @riotmaidstone

Loved the new chapter of LTLO! Are you reading tarot yurself, or just did advanced research to write Anthema and her reading with Azra in this chapter?

Thank you so much!! I do read tarot! I collect decks and do online and in person readings - no pressure but if anyone is interested in having one done, my prices and info are here on my personal blog!

I only brought two decks to my parents’ house for the holidays, so for now I have the traditional Rider Waite deck and the Lisa Sterle Modern Witch deck, but when I go back to CA in the new year, I have around 20 decks to choose from.

Yes! We just posted it - sorry for the wait, things have just been kind of wild. I was supposed to get it up last week but I was desperately cleaning and packing and working and trying to get IRL stuff sorted before flying home for the holidays this past weekend! This answer also goes out to the two Anons who asked me about an LTLO update! No, it has not been abandoned <3 We’ve already got Chapter Nine started too, but unsure of when it will be finished; while I’m home, we are not in the most convenient time zones haha.

(thanks for y’all’s patience! we got it finished and ready a week or two ago but work and travel for the holidays, etc got the better of me so I haven’t had a chance to post! I hope you enjoy!)

Anathema looked over to give Newt an apologetic grimace as he sighed, and fell back against the pillows on his own side of the bed.

“Again?” she asked, leaning against Newt’s shoulder and looking up at him with a playful eye roll. She grinned as he huffed out a soft laugh of his own, leaning over and pressing a kiss to her hair.

“Anathema, this is serious.” She rolled her eyes. Everything was always serious when it came to Tony. George probably stole his blankets or, more likely, one of his plants had a spot.

“What did the tradescantia do this time?”

“This isn’t bloody plant related!” Tony snapped, and her eyes widened. “It’s, this is… this is something else!”

The frantic distress in his voice gave Anathema pause, and she shifted from teasing to genuine concern.

“Are you alright? Did something happen?”

“Mhhk. Yes. Well, no, but also yes. I don’t know. Something always happens, or else nothing’d ever happen. That’s a terrible way to phrase your question. Something could mean anything. How am I supposed to know how to answer that?”

“Tony, you aren’t making any sense,” Anathema said gently. “Take a second and try to calm down, okay?”

“Thanks for calling,” Dante’s voice was warm as he picked up the phone. “Your pleasure is my business.”

“Good evening, dear.” Azra smiled.

“Angel! Good to hear from you.” Azra could nearly hear the smile in his voice.

“It is the usual time, isn’t it?”

“It is, but that doesn’t make it any less good to hear your voice.”

Azra’s cheeks flushed, even though he was sure it was just a line, and that most of Dante’s customers probably got the same treatment. “You flatter me.”

“Only because it’s true.”

“Cheek!” Azra laughed “How was your day, my dear?”

“Uneventful, I’m afraid. I had a bit of a lie in and spent some time getting some things done around the flat. I’m sure you’d be surprised to learn that I lead a very uneventful life.”

“Oh, I doubt that. Besides, you could say the same thing about me. Our weekly calls are probably the most interesting thing about me, if I’m being truthful, and that’s hardly an anecdote I’d share with anyone else.”

“No,” Dante replied, and the laugh that came with his words was gentle and soothing. “I can’t exactly picture you repeating the things that you say to me in polite company. And, given that, can I just say that I’m very glad that ‘polite company’ isn’t something I qualify for?”

“I think you’re quite polite.”
