Spinning Draa’s fantastic self titled EP from 2015 this morning. This release was pressed and released by Funeral Party Records in 2016. I saw them that year on their one and only tour (at the Bunkhouse in Las Vegas). They were very good live - I want to say they opened for Black Marble? They were already done making music together by the time this tour was in motion, and after the proceeding tour dates they called it quits officially.

Music, and especially releases like this, are an interesting measure of time. How fleeting and ephemeral energy and impermanence can come together to create something which can transcend - which can be held personally and lend meaning to our busy lives. I recall being so excited to even get to see these songs played live as I felt deep down that it might be the only time. Now 10 years later, it stands as an artifact of a specific time and place in my life. So much has changed, so much has happened. My life felt so slow and narrow at the time and I felt low and restless. Moments like these where I can reflect on the passage of time and place show me how rich my experiences and memories are , and how grateful I am to be where I am now.
