The Bubble Nebula

NGC 7635, the Bubble Nebula, is a nebula located about 11,000 light years away between the constellations Cassiopeia and Cepheus. It is only 10 light years wide, part of a larger complex including a molecular cloud, an area rich in gas and dust.

The Bubble Nebula is created by radiation and stellar winds from BD+602522, a massive star in the center of the cavity. The molecular cloud blocks the expanding gas, but is bombarded by radiation from the central star, causing it to glow.

This was so hard to get a shot of, I gave up and settled on this for now just so I could show you guys. I’ve tried to get the colours as true to life as possible, but the light is changing every two seconds here today. Some seriously indecisive weather. Will grab some better shots tomorrow when I’ve got more time!
