I'm so sorry but I'm not back and not sure when I will be, unfortunately I don't have a lot of free time anymore and my computer isn't working great these days and I'm holding off for a chance to upgrade. But I do have an idea I want to run by you all in the meantime, so please take a look below the cut. This is mainly aimed at my previous writing partners (whether we've been writing years or started writing last year) but I may be open to making some exceptions so don't be afraid to ask if you're interested!
Just dropping in to say hello I'm alive. I've been struggling creatively lately so the need for a good long break is needed. So the hiatus is still definitely in effect for honestly I'm not sure how long.
But I'm still here, still chugging along through life. Please don't feel like I've forgotten any of you. Just need some serious time for me. In the meantime DMs will be open if you want to chat. Miss you all and I'll try and be back as soon as I can 💜
I'm sorry guys. I was hoping once I was back from Christmas break on Sunday I'd have more energy, but I'm still really wiped. I think due to being sick on and off, and an insane busy week last week - I am truly in the clutches of burnout (the cold season doesn't help either).
I generally think I need both a longer break and some time to look through threads and see what I want to continue. I may drop some and look at starting new things so I don't feel so overwhelmed when I come back.
For now the hiatus is still in place whilst I take some time for me whilst I can (back at work on Monday 😭). Please bare with me 🩵
Okay I'm taking an extended full hiatus. I'm feeling a lot better but I'm gonna be super busy now until late December. Also my creativity has taken a major hit this past month, so I think it may do me some good to just take a full step back and take a break so I can come back with a better drive to write.
I will still be around for messaging and plotting but please be patient. I'll be back properly soon 🩵

Harley felt a heavy knot in her chest begin to loosen at the steady pressure of Karen's hand on her arm. The sheer loyalty radiating off the other woman was a life raft in the turbulent mess of her current existence. She knew Karen meant every word about justice, and that determined look was precisely why she trusted her more than any official channel in the city. "You're right," Harley agreed, her voice barely above a murmur as they continued walking. "Fisk's fingerprints are all over this town. It's why I've been focusing on the small-time stuff, staying under the radar." She gave a weak, appreciative squeeze to Karen's arm. "But I believe you. I really do. If anyone can figure out who did this, it’s you, Matt, and Foggy."
She felt a genuine smile return as they talked about the apartment. The simple, non-judgmental offer of a couch felt like the first piece of normalcy she'd been offered in weeks.
"Thank you, Kare. Seriously. I don't know what I'd do without you," Harley confessed, shaking her head slightly. "Four walls that haven't witnessed a murder sound like paradise right now."
She immediately shifted into pragmatic, investigator mode, the prospect of a safe space already clearing her head. "Staying with you would solve a lot of problems, actually. We can look at the case files without worrying about a window being busted or someone listening in." She stopped walking and turned to face Karen, her expression hardening with resolve. "I need to swing by my place and grab a bag of clothes and, more importantly, the hard drives with all of my old notes on this case. Everything else can wait. When do you want me to crash your apartment, and what can I bring for dinner? We should probably start cross-referencing my husband's clients with any known Fisk connections tonight."
Karen knew that feeling of weight well. She'd carried it herself when Matt and Foggy came barrelling into her life. Back then she'd been so alone and just the power of having two people in her corner - it meant everything. It still did. And right now she wanted to give that Harley, to give her hope that they would set this right. "That's the smart move. There is still so much of Fisk's corruption in this city. You never know who might be listening. Keep your cards to your chest and get ready to play them when you're ready to take them down." She said as if she didn't still pull reckless moves. But she'd learnt a few things from Ben, how to play the game the smart way. "It's not just us, you too Harley. We'll all figure this out together, I promise."
Sure it was a simple offer. But again she was reminded of how unsafe she felt in her old apartment after she was framed for murder. She couldn't be in those four walls. Not again.
"Don't worry about it. If it helps you sleep better then I'm more than happy to." That and well it might be safer that way.
"Well then great, we can put our heads together more and figure this out. It would make staying in touch a whole lot easier too." It would certainly help a lot. They could discuss things more frequently and well it would mean Matt & Foggy knew exactly where to find their new client too. And the best of it... She could see some resolve in Harley's gaze again. "Well that's a good Thai place round the corner if you like Thai? Or I have a bunch of pizza flyers so we could order in? That sounds like a good idea, it would be good to fully pool everything we have together." A pause. "Are you okay going back by yourself? I can come with you if you want me to." A simple offer but safety in numbers couldn't hurt.

"Okay okay." Maybe Karen had lost her temper too quickly.
"I know unexpected shit happens. But you call us the minute anyone shows up, especially her. Anything you say to her without us present she's going to try and use against you. Her lawyers will use it against you. Call us and we'll get there immediately or at least call a friend in the force who can get you away from her."
Running a hand through her hair. "I know you do Harley. I trust you too. I just want to make sure you remember we're on the same team here. You're not alone in this, okay?"
"Dean," he offers. It's a lie, a commonly-used alias for when he's not quite sure how someone will take the news that their present company is...well, Jon-fucking-Moxley. The lie's not meant to harm but rather help keep the peace in a stressful moment. If his identity becomes relevant, he'll own it. For now, he'll let his little alter ego do the talking. Dean is safe. Dean is not a threat.
"I know who you are. Which also means I know I've got no business fucking with whoever's after you." He's just human- nothing more, nothing less. He checks the saddlebags of his bike and offers her a sealed water bottle, just in case. "You tell me how I can best help you- including if it's staying the fuck out of your way."
He's wearing a Riders emblem. It's on his bike. If she knows anything about this area, she might damn well know what that means, but for now, there's a high chance he'll pass as a footsoldier and nothing else. He's injured, too, though the burns are not incredibly severe.
"Dean," she repeats. If it's a lie, right now she really doesn't care. After the night she'd had, she'd take anyone who wasn't trying to kill her. And well if Mox tried, well she could probably handle him. Not that she suspected that would be the case.
He had just taken a risk helping her after all.
"Fair enough, I guess I do tend to stand out." Flying and being an actual alien really did make her stand out. She takes the offered water bottle with a smile. "Well Dean, that was bold of you to step in back there. Thank you for your help."
And she meant it. If she recognises the symbol at a glance, she doesn't mention anything. If anything she probably would have to focus enough to remember what she knew about the Riders (which were mostly whispered rumors from those on the streets). But right now they aren't her priority. No right now she needed to know who was trying to kill her.
"Honestly you've done a lot already. I'm not sure what else I could ask." A pause. "Although it's probably best we get out of the open in case they come back. Do you have somewhere to lay low?"
"The best view. Of course, my eyes aren't what they once were." The caretaker happily continues to chatter, though out of breath and a bit haltingly. "When I was a young man, a mere apprentice, I'd spend my evenings here and- what are you DOING, young man?!"
Viktor, arm raised, has his fingers inches from a gear. He hesitates, grimacing as if in apology, before looking to constance.
"Trust me," he pleads.
He touches the gear.
The explosion of color, sound, wind should not be possible. It's a swirl just like his eyes, of a magic so ancient, so misplaced, so wild it feels like the brain's iced over and been lit on fire at the same time- that uncomfortable in-between, is it pain, is it wet, is it cold?
No answers. Only the Arcane.
"I imagine it's still just as wonderful." Constance is curious about taking in the sight of Paris from up here now she has the chance. She's half expecting the conservation to change to how very single the caretaker was. But no... His raised tone immediately catches her off guard as she whips around to look at Viktor.
What was he doing? Constance is alarmed and completely confused all at once. What was this?
"Viktor what are you-"
And her sentence ends in an instant.
Eyes look in a mixture of that same confusion, concern and awe at the explosion of colour. She'd never seen anything like it before. Which was understandable, the arcane was not something of a normal sight in the streets of Paris.
"Viktor...?" She almost sounds frightened now, uncertain if he could even address her in this state.
Having some eye strain issues so that's gonna affect my activity even more as I need to take some extended breaks from screens (especially as I'm looking at screens all day for work). Bare with ❤️

Luther at first wasn't sure how to respond. Those words, those feelings sounded familiar. He'd felt that way himself a few times throughout his life. Having the childhood he did well... It was hard not to.
"I'm sorry to hear that..." He begins a little unsure of himself, hoping not to mess up and say the wrong thing. "That feeling really sucks. But it doesn't have to last forever. You err-- you don't have to sit with it alone."
"I can't give you more than I know - !" The man snapped, a bit of vigor finally making its way to the fore. He fixed Thera with a glare as he spoke, though whether he realised her purpose or was simply annoyed by the repetition was hard to tell. "I was hired by a man who called himself Donayre, at a tavern called L'abeille. He sounded Spanish, but ... like I said, I didn't ask. He gave me the sword, and half-pay in advance."
Thera nodded slowly - it matched the story he'd given her already, and another thought had occurred. "What coins did he pay you with? Spanish?"
"No, French." No hesitation this time, his eyes darting to Constance as if her words about co-operation were sinking in. "I might have refused Spanish because I'd have to change them afterward."
"Meaning," Thera's jaw shifted, frown-line between her brows, "someone gave a Spaniard enough French currency to make the deal."
"Look," The man was speaking more quickly now, "I know the Musketeers aren't going to let me live unless I give them good reason. I can show them where it happened. Which direction he rode off in."
Constance listens intently. Really he probably had nothing to lose now, so it wouldn't serve him well to lie. Arms folded she can't help but frown. So her attacker was Spanish so there was a good chance this could be related to her position in court and her friendship with the Queen.
That could complicate things.
"Makes sense. If your employer is Spanish, well he wouldn't want anything to tie back to him. French coins make it easier to pass the blame."
Catching his eye, Constance is glad to see her offer is sinking in. She just hoped he was remaining honest about his information. All she could hope was his will to live was stronger.
"Well that would certainly be a welcome start." Constance nodded before crouching down to get in his face. "Keep it that way because if you lead them into a trap... Well I don't think I need to tell you what will happen."
"No." Mox knows this neighborhood like the back of his hand. He gets them towards the railyard, where an empty storehouse will serve as a safe spot to sort out what the hell is going on and what, exactly, he needs to do to to help her. "Just hold still for now, okay? I don't want you falling the hell off. It would probably take both of us down. I'm not going to hurt you." He turns his head to cough, his own lungs aching from smoke.
He has burns on his hands from saving her. He's working through the pain for now, knowing it's not the time to stop, panic, and let himself feel it in full. He'll survive. He needs to make sure she does, too. Part of him's thinking about what favors she could owe him, true, but at heart, he just cannot let her face whatever this is alone. Not on his turf- no way.
He comes to a stop in the shelter of an old aluminum awning, kicks the stand, kills the engine.
"Can you walk?"
That sounds about right. Kory could tell he wasn't one of her usual Titans friends or any of the other heroes she knew. But for now Mox seemed to be getting her out of and away from danger. And right now she chose to focus on that. "Okay." She simply replies, instead focusing her energy on his instructions. Pull herself out of consciousness, stay awake and don't fall off the damn bike.
Glancing behind them, she feels a least somewhat confident that her pursuers hadn't spotted them. God she hoped they weren't going to cause more chaos. But right now she needed to get to safety and regroup. At least she could rest easy holding faith they were too focused on her to care about the people below.
When they come to a stop, Kory takes in her new surroundings. She's more awake now, but still feeling incredibly woozy.
"I think so." Gently she clambers off the bike, she's a little wobbly but she manages to stand up on her own. Looking to Mox she smiles. "Thank you for your help back there... I'm sorry I don't think I got your name... I'm Koriand'r."
" when are you gonna start letting people look after you, huh? " ( Bexley to Bucky )
"Bex... Honestly I'm fine really." Liar he was wincing and looked exhausted. That last mission had taken a lot out of him. And as much as he was glad Bexley was here, he also didn't want to cause too much of a fuss. He just wanted to sleep and he'd worry about any injuries later.
"I just need some sleep, you really don't need to worry. I promise."

Honestly he hadn't realised he'd started to hold his breath when he asked that question. What did she need? Bucky would give her anything he could. But there was one thing... That unspoken thing that well... That might be the one thing he might not be able to give her. And the last thing he wanted to do was hurt her. He'd tried... Having her back in his life. But really could he deny the space he'd put between them.
Perhaps not.
Yet when he stops and sees those tears form in Bexley's eyes, it's like everything changes. His worry grows and the genuine care appears on his face. Almost a protective instinct. Had someone hurt her?
But then she speaks and it dawns him. That distance, that space had caused this. "Bex..." Is all he can say at her admissive. When she rests her forehead on his chest, he moves his arms in an instant - wrapping them around her. A piece of his heart breaking. "Bex I'm sorry." A pause. "I'm so sorry if I ever made you feel you can't come to me anymore." Another pause as he tried to find the right words. "That's okay. Take it a step at a time sweetheart. If talking about it feels too much right now, then just take a moment to breathe. I won't go anywhere. I promise."
Bexley let herself be pulled in close, melting into the solid, comforting structure of his embrace. The moment he surrendered, even with that gruff, complaining tone, she felt the tension she’d been carrying all day begin to dissolve. She knew he wasn't fully ready to articulate what they were—or what they could be—but the actions always spoke louder than the words he refused to say. His arm, wrapped securely around her, wasn't just physical comfort; it felt like a silent, firm boundary protecting her from the world, and she leaned into it gratefully.
When he pressed that unexpected, gentle kiss to the top of her head, a soft sigh escaped her lips. It was a simple, profound gesture that confirmed everything her own heart already knew: she was important to him. She burrowed her face into the fabric of his shirt, inhaling the familiar, clean scent of him. "I know, Buck," she murmured softly against his chest, her eyes closing. "I know you will." His simple presence was enough to quiet the chaotic static in her mind, and she finally let herself relax, settling in to take his advice and just rest.
Sure Bucky couldn't say those words yet, part of him was uncertain if he ever could again. But perhaps he didn't need to. In every action, he spoke all he hadn't said to Bexley. Every little piece of his heart as he held her so protectively close. Almost a silent promise. No matter what he would be there for her. There to always watch her back and keep her safe.
The kiss had happened on instinct. He hadn't even thought about it. It just came naturally. Perhaps even surprised him a little. But if it had he didn't call attention to it. His thumb gently brushed against her arm. Holding her close, he rests his head next to her's. Feeling her relax, he hoped she could finally get the rest she needed. "I'll be right here when you wake up," he almost whispered unsure if his words would reach her.
