Finally finished the drawing! Yay :)
Going into this project was extremely difficult for me, especially as I’ve never been given so much creative freedom on a project of this scale. When I had to think of a focus for this project I gravitated towards my drawing tablet, as it is a piece of technology that I got a lot closer to over t...
After countless hours and sleepless nights. I’m so glad I finished this on time. This is the final product for my final Ideation project. Enjoy
Storyboarding for my project 3 manga/comic.
The first image is a live sketch of a person I observed in the workspace on the 3rd floor of Jay Street Metrotech. The rest of the sketches are based on photos of real people.
Some photoshopped images I made as a concept for this supposed utopia/dystopia. Not final idea though.
The initial sketches for my project 3 idea. Which takes place in a world where drawing tablets can pilot vehicles.
For the past two weeks I’ve been working on this digital art piece and it finally came to fruition! The main focus here was applying different techniques to each of the characters shown here and if you haven’t guessed yet, this is Teen Titan themed.
This week I’ve been working on more stylistic drawings based on the styles of other artists. I’m just trying around and seeing what features I like and what I don’t like to evolve my current art style a bit more.

Reading Response #6
The sixth chapter of The Design of Everyday Things introduced many interesting and new concepts to my knowledge of the ideation process, but what caught my attention the most was the contrast from the traditional linear design process to a new circular model. This new circular model made complete sense, do some design research, ideate and create a prototype, then pivot with the pros of the prototype and restart the cycle. Somehow this idea sounded like something I would already do, but it was the first time I ever read about it. For some odd reason, my mind linked this part of the chapter to the standardization and technology part where the chapter talked about how you could do research, create a prototype, and then realize that you could standardize outside aspects like how the product is to be used and adapt your design and re-enter the cyclical design process. Just like how cars slowly advanced in technology over time and became easier to operate, they also added some standardization to affect the design process, like standardizing which side of the road to drive on, location of the driver’s seat and certain essential components of the car, and etc. The circular design process really assists designers in more real-world situations where problems aren’t packaged nicely like how they are in school and designers have to find the problems and continuously reiterate when they discover new problems, thus incorporating techniques such as the cyclical design process, activity-centered versus human-centered design, standardization, and many more solutions to adapt to the constantly changing world that we live in.
Ghost in the Shell Review
Over the weekend Sofia and I watched Ghost in the Shell (the 1995 anime version). I was immediately captured by the world’s emphasis on mechanical design, more specifically, I’m talking about how everything in the world from the robots to the technology has this amazing mechanical aesthetic to it that really makes the world feel cohesive. We noticed all sorts of cool types of technology and design choices involved in this world like how almost all humans have some sort of cybernetic enhancement that makes living so much easier. We follow the protagonist whose name is Major Kusanagi (Major is her first name), an android with a human conscious who strives to figure out her true purpose and identity in life. The thermo-optic camouflage, the existence of “simulated reality” where people can hack other’s consciousness which are called “ghosts” in this world, and the existence of AI so complex that it develops self-awareness. While a lot of the technology in this movie seems too bizarre to become a reality, I would argue that we aren’t as far off as we think. Many scientists and engineers around the world are constantly working on advancing technology and artificial intelligence and once people teach an AI how to learn, that’ll carry humanity over a technological singularity where life will never go back to the way it was (like how the internet changed the world) and we’ll have rapid advancements in technology just from looking at the trend of the technological advancement of humanity. So we better be careful and keep out ghosts safe, from one day, being put in a shell.
A lot of sketching this week, working mostly on real-life references. Though it’s not REAL real-life, rather a picture of real-life, I still get a good amount of practice with sketching human form.
A few stylized drawings based on My Hero Academia, characters are based off teen titans though.
An update to a digital art piece I’ve been working on. Check my Operation Diamond page to see the progress! This piece is taking a lot longer than I expected so I may not be able to finish this piece before the semester ends due to my scope being too large. But I will persevere.
I’ve begun making a concept for a side character that will be Arden’s friend, her name is Kaelin and she wields a lance.
This constant output is from last week but I decided to put it on here anyway to show that I’ve begun drawing from real references.
