Okay so I’m an only child and lots of people are like, “You’re so lucky, I wish I didn’t have any brothers or sisters.”
No no you are wrong. Being an only child sucks let me list some things…
When you’re little you have no one to play with and you just sit there with your toys trying to play a two person game by yourself. I tried to play trouble with my stuffies when I was 5.
You are awkwardly social (maybe not for you but for me) because you had no or very little interaction with kids your or around you age before school.
No one to help you when you have problems and you can’t tell your parents because they wont understand so you have to try to get through it with no help.
You will never be called auntie or uncle, cause you have no siblings who can then have little children!
You are covered with responsibility. There are so many chores and stuff to do that you can’t share with someone else so it’s easier. And your parent’s expect you to get the best in class. To get all 90’s because you’re their only child and have to do the best
And this is just the tip of the iceberg….
i remember playing in cloud fluff like it was sea water. i remember dipping fingers into the great expanse of the sky, of sipping moonlight from my cupped hands. i remember light, constant and warm, like the embrace of a mother.
i remember choosing to leave, arriving on earth in a gentle breeze and falling irreversibly in love with this place so different from what i knew.

The mystery of icon-preserving bees
For a decade, a beekeeper near Athens, has kept a tradition: every spring, he slips icons of Christ, the Holy Virgin and different saints in his beehives, in order to bless his bees and his yearly honey production. And every year, the very same mysterious phenomenon occurs: bees make their honeycomb cells around the pious images, meticulously avoiding covering them.
There’s a photo I was sent about Notre Dame, and I figured I might as well share my thoughts on it.
Right here, the first things that capture my eye is the smoke and the cross.
The smoke, the destruction and pain brought upon us and the Cathedral, is broken by the cross.
The cross is a symbol of hope
Unity
Continuity
Perseverance
Quite literally it is rising above the ashes.
And now, people have come together to try and help save the Cathedral. From the 400 firefighters on the scene to the people already trying to pour their funds into a reconstruction project.
These people, seeing this great pain and the destruction of a cultural landmark, have decided that the not only can persevere, but they must.
Because we are human, and we will not fall this easily
