i think people are kinda missing out because they both so clearly have a very long-running connection that spans any other relationship she has with the mercs to the point that he is the one that namedrops her (given its a nickname if we're running with the fact that florence is her full name) and i don't see a lot of people talking about it side from a few people that know of this gem.

i think they're quite neat. i'm a sucker for the "they were friends for a long time" kind of trope, though that is personal preference. we don't see a lot of engineer in the comics but we know the Conaghers had been working with TF Industries (therefore the Administrator) for so long it even precedes the hiring of miss pauling, which is obvious but tldr; we know how long dell's family has been with this company so there is a very likely chance they met/have been working together even before the recruitment of the current mercs and no one! talks about that! and i think its so cool!

they have such a complex relationship too, again we don't know much about it but there is truly something about how she was actually thinking about it before he says he isn't going to help her. you could stretch it out and say there is a form of co-dependancy or something in here but that's just the magic of it. people need to think about them more. please. god please.

that moment when your last physical comic appearance is next to your whatever-the-fuck. what do you do when your stepping stone for your entire healing process is because of a random fucking dude (you've been friends for as long as you can remember)
