There is no actual, tangible reason why we allow people to starve, to be homeless, to suffer and die needlessly. Food is plentiful. Empty homes are plentiful. Medicine is plentiful. Itās hidden away behind constructs and we pretend those constructs mean something. There is an empty home and a homeless family, give them it. There is a sick child and common medicine to treat it, give it to them. There is a starving person and so much food wasted by corporations or hidden behind a dollar sign, feed them.

Iāll go nine more seasons if I have to, Morty
Yoooo! I'm back on insta. (@ least for now) I've been doing all these cleanses recently, including social media. Crazy what you realize about yourself even just going 30 days without something. Cough #fuckfacebook cough..Shit is addictin'. Not good for your brain. Whatever happened to genuine communication and connections? Do they exist anymore? Or are we starting to get our #selfworth from likes/comments/shares/retweets ā Do we even remember when strangers made conversation instead of staring at their phones.. hell, even intimate people just stare at their phones now instead of talking to each other. BUT ANYWAY, I occasionally missed IG so here I am downloading the app again, trying this #moderation thing. Let's see if it stays on my phone or not š Love you all though! I'm šÆ% here for all the genuine phone calls, texts, and in person connections. āš» #smokeandmirrors #smokescreen #contemplation #ftm #braingains #bepresent

The Beginning
Keith Haring in 1989: āUnfinished Paintingā. Haring died few months after and this is his last painting. This is supposed to be a self-portrait. Haring knew he wouldnāt have enough time to finish it. This is one of the saddest but certainly the most powerful thing Iāve ever seen.
to clarify: thisĀ is a finished self portrait. haring did know that he would be unable to continue to work; this āunfinishedā painting refers to that self-consciously as a visualization of how the aids crisis and government neglect robbed him of his life and future career.
i feel like this distinction is important? there are many artists who died due to hiv/aids and left unfinished work, but haring made this specifically to comment on his impending death. i feel like stating that itās actually unfinished takes away some of his agency as an artist/activist/pwa and the political power of the work.Ā
