So, I made a Llengrath doll for @ennaway for the @secret-st-waidwen-exchange this year!

She is made of polymer clay and wire, has a posable neck, and moveable, - although limp, - limbs. All the clothes are hand-sewn, however their design, due to the lack of observable detail in game, is very much just "yep, close enough".

This project accidentally became three-dimensional, I at first thought of doing an illustration, but then the craft called. Oops.

Actually settling on the clothing design was so hard, because let's be honest, there aren't that many details in the game. But I, nonetheless, managed to make something, including a very very big for the doll wizard robe.

All this clothing is, theoretically, removable: the robe just rests on the shoulders, the overdress can be veryyyy carefully pulled over the head, the dress is only stitched shut in the front, but it is very easy to un-do and re-do if necessary. The boots and tights can come off pretty easily.

I don't know why I did this to myself, but all these pieces are lined, the white dress has quilting lines, it's all (mostly) hemmed. Mind you, I'm in no way a skilled or trained sewist, so if you are one, and looking at this makes you think "wow, this is a nightmare structurally" — yep 😅

the original concept for The Draculas involved (and possibly still involves) TV louis (an example of a truly superior transformative, albeit legal, adaptation of a character that has had free adaptations historically censored by his original author) waking up from nightmares about fan characters for other media trapped in hell by copyright.

i wondered if i could thread that needle in as few panels as possible and wound up with this (possibly batshit) sequence i am nonetheless somewhat thrilled by. THE DRACULA IS AWAKE!

Jenin Jenin (Mohammed Bakri - 2002)

During Operation Defensive Shield in April 2002, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) invaded a Palestinian refugee camp in Jenin. The Israeli military refused to allow journalists and human rights organizations into the camp for “safety reasons” during the fighting, leading to a rapid cycle of rumors that a massacre had occurred. Jenin remained sealed for days after the invasion. Stories of civilians being buried alive in their homes as they were demolished, and of smoldering buildings covering crushed bodies, spread throughout the Arab world. Various casualty figures circulated, according to official Israeli figures, later some human rights organizations accused Israel of war crimes, but cleared on alleged ‘massacre’, 9% of the camp was leveled and over 50 people were killed, a senior Palestinian official accused Israel of massacring more than 500 people in the camp. UN fact-finding mission was not allowed by Israeli to enter Jenin.

As the man-made famine in the Gaza Strip worsens and access to food becomes increasingly difficult, we've decided to extend our support beyond agricultural inputs. We are currently working to connect grassroots initiatives with local farmers-allowing crops to be purchased well below the soaring market rates and directly distributed to those unable to buy or access them.
