Be their hero, Clark. Be their angel, be their monument, be anything they need you to be. Or be none of it. You don’t owe this world a thing. You never did.
arsxnalroy:
“But right now I’m asking you.” Roy pointed to the other. “So what do you say, man. Hot or not?”
”Hot?” Clark replied, his cheeks turning a soft shade of pink as he did. Although he’d tried to be reassuring, give Roy the answer he thought the other would want, Clark’s tone lacked the confidence to make his statement believable.
conner-kon-el:
“It was the only place I had to put them.” Conner spoke with a slight tone of innocence. Reaching out, he took the case that Clark was offering, opened it and looked the glasses over. They were slightly bigger than his normal pairs, definitely meant for Clark. “I see you’re still a bit… wonky with this whole thing eh?” There were moments, where it was a lot easier whatever their thing was that is. Friend, mentor, genetic DNA Daddy, cousin, clone, whatever. Other times it was… awkward. “Well, at least we’ve established I’m family. Exactly what title and how you feel with someone like me around is still a wonder. Granted, as long as I’m not seen like Bizarro.”
“Might be best to put them aside, or keep another pair close by. You wouldn’t believe all the pairs I’ve gone through.” Often times Clark found himself feeling guilty when Conner was around, not that it was ever the boy’s fault—it all stemmed from some unresolved issues Clark had with Lex. Still, he could see the effect those feelings had on Conner. He knew it wasn’t fair to put that weight on him. “Less wonky than before—does that count?” He turned, offering Conner a half smile when he did. “What title would you prefer?”
ofcanarycry:
DINAH PLACES HER BAG down, and she smiles at her friend though, tilting her head to the side. “It’s always good to see you Clark. What can I help you with?” She asks flattered that he came here to see her. She expects it to be important, and wonders if this had anything to do with superhero business or if it was just a casual visit. “It was totally the pacing by the way, dead giveaway.”
“No more pacing, got it.” Clark caught sight of Dinah’s purse and frowns. “Were you about to step out? I don’t want to keep you.” Though he’d been avoiding the topic for so long it was probably best if he got it out of his system quickly, at least before he lost confidence. “it’s about the JL reunion.”
cfnightwing:
“True, but you forget I grew up with Bruce. I’m pretty good at not doing overly foolish things most of the time.” Dick answers easily with a grin on his face, glancing over at Clark. It’s good to see him - it always is, really. He’s always looked up to Clark, always found it comforting to know he can go to the man for help or advise or just for a chat if he needs to. “No? C’mon, you’d nail it. You should go to one of those places where they serve those giant steaks where if you finish it you get it for free, I bet you’d annihilate it.” He laughs and takes a bite of his food.
Clark places a hand over his mouth, trying to cover up his laugh and attempt to keep the food in his mouth. “Sure, superman would—but Clark would just eye the steak as if it were alive.” Richard was right, he could easily excel in a competition like that, though not if he was pretending to be normal. Annihilating a giant steak wasn’t really one of Clark’s special skills. “we’ll have to settle for these.” He motioned towards their plates.
CH: I know! I was downtown when Magneto gave his speech. It was rather scary.
CH: How are Lois and Jon? I saw Jon the other day, and he talked at me for about 5 minutes before disappearing again.
CK: I'm sorry you had to experience that :C Hopefully they got it out of their system and things will begin to calm down.
CK: They're okay, trying to deal with it all... seems Jon's way of dealing with it is to disappear, but we'll get there.
CK: Oliver and Dinah doing okay?
conner-kon-el:
“You know…” Conner spoke, lifting the broken glasses to eye level in one hand and his other holding what remained of his tattered sleeve. “Putting these things in your pocket really isn’t a smart idea before a fight with Parasite.” Lowering the ruined glasses, Conner let them drop down on the table in front of him. His body ached, slightly, more tired than anything. Parasite really loved the taste of Kryptonian and he liked the benefits of a human hybrid. “Might need to borrow a new shirt from ya. Take it Lois and Jon are out eh? So how is my little……cousin…brother….nephew…..half child… I’m really not sure of the relation being your half clone.” @mansuper
“Putting them in your pocket at all is probably not the smartest idea.” Clark shook his head, he turned and reached for the bag on the counter behind him, pulling out a small plastic case from inside. “You can keep these, the case too.” Though sometimes (more than not) it was hard for Clark to wrap his head around all things Conner, like everything else, he was dealing with it. Or at least trying to. He nodded towards the stairs and rose from his seat. “You know where everything is, help yourself.” He stepped around the counter and towards the kitchen as he made a bee-line towards the coffee pot. “Cousin works.” Anything but half child. “Not that there is an appropriate term really.”
It was so cool to hang out with you guys today. I have all your trading cards.

loislanereporting:
She frowns, picking at the pancakes. She didn’t want to fight but admittedly she wasn’t feeling much like herself. Between being concerned for Jon, the future of Superman and likely still reeling from some of the upset of being a hostage, Lois just felt on edge. She didn’t mean to take it out on Clark. “Fine. I am going to eat and get ready for work,” She could go and be stressed at work as easily as she could here. She assumed things would be a comfort, but instead her stomach was sloshing around with nerves and anxiety. “Sorry.”
Clark stopped at the end of the stair, when he turned to face Lois again his features were softer, the look on his face more understanding. “You don’t have to be sorry, and you don’t have to feel bad for taking a day for yourself.” When he reached the table again, Clark took the empty seat at Lois’ side, his hands cupping over her free one. “You have a lot on your plate and I don’t mean this one.” He nudged the plate in front of her. “You don’t have to be sorry for that either.”
CH: I'm okay!
CH: How are you, Clark?
CK: I'm glad! Too much craziness has been following SC lately
CK: I'm doing okay as well :)
cfnightwing:
Dick laughs and pulls his plate closer towards him. It’s always nice to have lunch with a friend, to catch up and see how things have been going, but it’s different with Clark - Dick looks up to the man immensely so it’s a huge relief to see him again. A sense of steady ground with all the chaos lately. “Listen, I can do some pretty foolish things, but entering an eating competition with you is definitely not one of them.” He says with a chuckle as he looks over at the other man.
“Smart men have tried much more foolish things.” Clark chuckles at the comment, it was easy to fall back into things with Dick, Clark had always found that to be true with him. Though now with everything that was going on, Clark wanted to make sure the other was okay, really okay. “Can’t say an eating contest is something I see in my future either.” He eyed the pair at their side, eating as if the food would quickly disappear.
ofcanarycry:
DINAH LEANS AGAINST the doorframe, and smiles seeing Clark on the other side. “Now there’s a face I haven’t seen in a very long time. It’s good to see you, Clark. This is a surprise indeed, did you want to come in?” She asks as she steps aside for her old friend to come inside. “If you’re here for Oliver, it’s just me right now. Unless you came to see me then I’m flattered.” She says with a soft laugh.
Sometimes visits felt too few and far between when it came to old friends. With a lifestyle as fast as theirs it was easy to get caught up in the moment, at least until disaster stock. Clark was trying to leave that old habit behind, though how good of a job he was doing he wasn’t too sure. “Hey Dinah.” He shucked, his head shaking slightly as he did. “I am here to see you actually. Was it my pacing what gave it away?” He closed the small space between the driveway to the house.
