I do NOOOOT like the whole sea salt trio + Saix being family thing that's super popular. People can do what they want obviously but I dunno how it got so popular 😭 like aside from me feeling like dadAxel/brotherAxel just being super ooc for him I don't think that Roxas would warm up to Saix like that, ESPECIALLY NOT XION??? Their dynamic (to me at least) would be like...our older friend and his stupid fucking ex that we both hate because he was an absolute dick to us (and now he's chill I guess and we just have to be niceys about it) but our older friend insists on bringing around despite us feeling weird about it

More “Axel In The Driver’s Seat” comics i’ll never draw:

A multi-part series of Roxas developing this strange habit and others having no idea what’s going on for a while.

–Starts with the usual clocktower hangout. Until Roxas puts a hand over the left side of Axel’s chest. Axel looks at him but Roxas is just staring into the sunset like it’s not happening. It’s only for a couple panels. “Rox, wha-” But then the hand’s gone and Roxas brandishes his “winner” stick.

–Axel’s sleeping in his room and wakes up confused about why. He looks down and Roxas is revealed, head flat on his chest this time. He waits. Then he gently touches Roxas’s shoulder and is about to ask if he had a bad dream, but Roxas rolls off him and the bed in one movement and walks back out the door.

–The trio sitting on a couch talking. Or, mostly, Axel talking and hands flailing. When Xion finally gets a chance to talk, Roxas lays his head against Axel’s chest. He leaves it there long enough for Axel to suggest he go to bed if he’s tired, but Roxas sits back up and continues the conversation like nothing happened.

–Axel and Roxas fight some enemies in a world and by the time they’re done they collapse to lean back-to-back on the ground. After Roxas gets a few heaving breaths, he turns his head and presses his ear against Axel’s back. Axel looks over his shoulder, worried, but Roxas stands and tells him to get his lazy ass up.

–Finally, Axel is on a mission alone and his Gummiphone rings. It’s Roxas, who looks uncomfortable and annoyed; won’t look into the phone: “Hey. Just…wanted to… I mean… Never mind, I’m just bored.” Axel smirks at him: “Hey, I had Ienzo make me something before I came here. I’m sending it to you right now.” The attachment is a sound file of a heartbeat that plays. Roxas finally looks into the phone camera: “It’s your…?” Axel nods. “Thanks, Axel.” Both smile fondly. “See ya soon, Roxas.”
