Me and the weirdos at this train station rn.
otw to the train!! ππ iβm lowkey exhausted and have officially entered weird girl hours. The sleep deprivation has kicked in and iβm acting like a complete idiot. An absolute silly goose, if you will. Pray for everyone who has to interact with me tonight. π«‘
I leave for Dallas in less than two hours and Iβm honestly so excited. ππ€ My train leaves in the middle of the night, so Iβll (hopefully) sleep through most of the ride and wake up in Texas around noon tomorrow. Iβve never done an overnight train before, so Iβm weirdly excited for the experience itself just as much as the destination. Iβm so ready to explore Dallas, find cool places to eat, wander around, people watch, and just soak everything in. And then Saturday nightβ¦ I finally get to see The Pretty Reckless live. π¦ Iβve been looking forward to this concert for so long, and it still doesnβt feel real that itβs finally here.
The last couple of weeks have been a whirlwind between moving, staying in a hotel, house hunting, and getting completely burned out trying to find the right one. Eventually, I realized Iβd rather wait for the house than settle for one I wouldnβt be completely in love with. In the meantime, I unexpectedly found the perfect apartment, completely fell in love with it, signed the lease, and now Iβm just counting down the days until move-in on August 14th. π₯Ή So this trip honestly feels like the perfect little adventure before everything starts to settle into place. Right when I needed it. For the first time in a while, it really feels like everything is starting to fall into place.
Hereβs to overnight trains, exploring a city Iβve never been to, adding another chapter to the album of memories, and finally seeing one of my favorite bands live. Hereβs to new beginnings, growth, and embracing change even when itβs equal parts exciting and terrifying. π€πβ¨
Found a super cute apartment eeeee I move in August 14th.
At the end of the day, honesty is truly the best policy. I try to treat people the way Iβd want to be treated with honesty, respect, and authenticity. If the roles were reversed, Iβd want someone to be real with me, even if the truth hurt. The truth may sting, but it gives people the opportunity to understand, reflect, learn, grow, heal, and move forward in life.
Iβd rather know where I stand than be left guessing. Iβd rather hear an uncomfortable truth than be comforted by a lie or kept alive by false hope. Honesty provides clarity, and clarity allows people to make informed decisions about their lives instead of wasting time trying to decipher mixed signals or fill in the blanks themselves. To me, being honest isnβt about being harsh or insensitive. Itβs about respecting someone enough to trust them with the truth. People canβt work through something they donβt know exists, and they canβt grow from something that was never communicated. While honesty may create temporary discomfort, it often prevents the confusion, resentment, and unanswered questions that silence leaves behind. Sometimes the kindest thing you can do for another person is simply be real with them.
You'll miss me in ways you won't expect
Everything reminds me of you.
