making up an durarara!! au in my head it’s called “the sky over ikebukuro.” it is based off of the 1987 film wings of desire (dir. wim wenders) and in it, kadota, togusa, karisawa, and yumasaki are angels who walk the streets of the city unheard and unseen, listening to the thoughts of the humans they pass by. however, as they grow increasingly dissatisfied with their spiritual existence and frustrated with their inability to influence the lives of the students they watch over, they each cast off their wings in favor of mortality. as they are born again human, they experience the rich colors of humanity and also the fulfillment of participation in life. also theyre in love with each other.
