Entity 66-6

Salutations entity! This is my field journal as I travel throughout the stars, discovering new flora and fauna! Join me in my adventures in the vast and endless universe!

This evenings discovery is a new speices once more, a Claw-Toed Pronghorn. A very skittish and shy creature and a solo explorer not unlike myself!

During my study of these fauna, I have noted that their diet consists mainly of whatever tubers they can dig up with their large clawed feet. They suppliment their diet with brightly coloured flora, the complex dyes providing a very valuable micronutrient boost for their immune system. I believe the colouration of the flora may contribute to colouration of their patterning, this specimen having very yellow stripes.

Pronghorn's weigh around 84.8kg and stand at 1.6m, much smaller than most other fauna on Cryptisius.

The Claw-Toed Pronghorn seems to be the main prey animal on Cryptisius, which could explain their two-pronged tail and streamlined body. The tail acting as a counter balence to their large and sturdy legs and head, allowing them to make sharper and more drastic turns.

Their large ears allow them to head preditors up to 100 u's away

Their sense of smell is fine tuned to detect tubers that may be laying under the thick snow and ice

Another splendid creature discovered! The Armored Muskcram, a gentle giant indeed! These friendly and curious fauna are found on Cryptisius, located by large bodies of water.

The Armored Muskcram are solitary beasts, only interacting with others of their kind if neccessary, which includes for breeding purposes. Interactions between Armored Muskcram are tense at best, often arguing over territory. However, they will rather happily interact with other species and can often be found roaming with Megostaurus and the Claw-Toed Pronghorn.

These mighty creatures weigh 107.3kg and stand at 2.4m, a rather imposing yet impressive stature

Their diet consists of a wide variation of vegitation but are particularly fond of Frostwort, gorging on it whenever they come across it.

The Armored Muskcram is also rideable if one takes a liking to you! I would rate the rideability a solid 8/10, slightly bumpy but incredibly fast and agile, able to cross craggy landscapes with ease.

Behold! My newest discovery! I am naming this creature a Quadpeidia! These intriguing fauna are found on Criptisius, seen mainly in the moutain ranges, high in the skies above where ground feeders roam.

The Quadpeidia have powerful lateral muscles, allowing them to take to the air faster than any ground preditor could lunge! Upon observing them for a few days, I've discovered their diet is completely comprimised of other animals excrement! Thats right! They use their highly specilised sense organs to dig through the fecal deposits of other creatures, sniffing out and consuming the nuitrients within! This may seem unsavory to those with a gentile disposition, but to me is facinating and unlike anything i've ever seen!

The Quadpeidia weighs around 174.4kg and is 3.6m in length. Their body has a hard exoskelleton, not unlike the earth ant, which protects them from the elements and other creatures. The thorn like spines along their body act as form of self defence against eachother when fighting for mates! They wrap around their opponent and dig their spines into the others exposed flesh, grusome but extraordinary at the same time! The barbed tails are also used for the purpose of attracting a mate, the more bulbous the better! A large, engorged tail shows that this particular Quadpeidia is virile and healthy. Once mated, they stay together for life or until their partner dies, in which they will seek out a new mate.

When injured it was clear to see that their blood is, in fact, bioluminescent.

These creatures are intersex, which allows them to pair and mate with any other Quadpeidia, maximising the chances of offspring

A new species discovered on Cryptisius! A fish like creature, but not found in the oceans or lakes, but the sky! I have decided to name this specimen and those of its kind the Bulge-Headed Sarmin, named mainly after its large bulging head adornment.

The Bulge-Headed Sarmin sports long, thin green fins along it's back and underbelly, accompanied by 2 long tendrils that seem to help it turn and navigate. 4 long, almost feather-like spines sprout from its back, I believe these may be used in attracting a mate.

They are approximately 201.4kg and 3.7m in length, their scales are tough and very similar to those of the Arapaima which live in the Earth's amazon.

The Bulge-Headed Sarmin travel in shoals, ranging from 3 to even groups of 8+! I observed this smaller shoal of 4, noting that the group is led by an 'Alpha' Sarmin which decides where to go, when to eat and even when to rest! This particular group is made up of the main alpha, 2 slightly smaller Sarmin (who both have no spines, but fins instead, which i assume fill the role of 'beta') and the smallest of the group which seems to fill the role of an 'omega' (the lowest ranking member of the shoal). They act in perfect harmony, I have not witnessed any fighting amoungst this group, but perhaps this is dependant on the size of the shoal.

Additional notes:

Filtered gills in cheeks which allow them to suck up water and extra nutrients from algal blooms.

They re-grow their teeth everyday, shedding the old set.

They prefer to stay as close to the ground as possible, only taking full flight when necessary.

Well this little lady certainly isn't camera shy! Which is great for me as this is a whole new species! I've decided to call this lovely creature a Pygmy Nosed Fluerophant.

Its to be noted that I've only ever encountered females of this species, perhaps they reproduce asexually? Or perhaps the males are far rarer and don't travel in pods like the females?

These little beauties weigh about 138.1 kilograms and are around 2.3 meters in length. The Fluerophant has double coned eyes, meaning their vision has much to be desired. They also seem to be sentitive to bright lights and seem more active at night.

Their unusual anatomy is reminicant of a Squid from the Earth colonies. Yet it uses these membrains to fly, which leads me to believe that the Pygmy Nosed Fluerophant has some sort of gas bladder to help it retain flight.

These perculiar creatures also have chemically-adapted blood and a rather unusual metabolism to keep them warm in the sub-zero weather of Cryptisius. I've noted that these peaceful flyers are incredibly intelligent, seeming to be entirely aware of their physical limitations.

As for their diet, they are strickly herbivourus and i've noticed that their teeth seem to be rather soft. It seems they cannot consume any sort of hard foliage or mature plant life, leading them to only eat fresh and soft leaves from treetops.

Pygmy Nosed Fluerophant's are also highly tameable and will not object to being saddled! The rideability is about a 5/10, expect a slightly unstable ride as these creatures are quite small and wriggly. They do not move fast either, their top speed being about 4-6 Uph.

Additional notes:

The fluerophant's skin is smooth and rubbery, not unlike the Earth's whales or perhaps a dolphins

What they lack in sight, they make up for with their incredible sense of smell

They're very sweet, not so much a scientific note, but a personal one

My first ever planet Discovery! I've decided to name this place Cryptisius. The planet is in the Lateo Sytem. I've noted this planet seems to be in a state of Permafrost (the temperature being at an almost contant state of -50'c and below), with copious amounts of Flora and frequent Fauna.

As for the natural resources on Cryptisius, theres seems to be abundant amounts of Cobalt, Copper and Dioxite, along with Frost Crystals. This planet also has large bodies of "water". This including lakes, ponds and even an ocean! These too teeming with life.
