Day 365: It ends more or less as it began, with a sort-of-cityscape. (Pity the only decent close vantage point of New Haven is from the I-95/I-91/CT 34 interchange.)
A few reflections - this was a lot of fun, but considerably more difficult than I expected it to be. It took a bit more effort than I thought it would to actually take out my camera (or my phone) and actually take a picture of something. Also, as those of you following me may have noticed, some days aren't really that interesting, and you're forced to take a photo of something you think is meaningless. Then again, when you think back on your life, there really are days that you just don't remember vividly because nothing of note happened. I learned through this that even the dullest of days are often worth capturing. (Also, uploading photos every day didn't happen, but I did manage to take a photo every day, which in and of itself was an accomplishment.)
This was originally intended to follow me around Philadelphia, my birthplace and permanent home, but my career development has allowed me to explore other places in the process - many of which I've been to for the first time (hello, Motown and Phoenix), and some of which I spent most of the year in (hello, Connecticut). Looking back, it's been a pretty productive and fun year, and I'm really happy to have documented it.
As for what will follow this project on this Tumblr, I haven't quite decided. I might begin writing, or I might continue using this as a photo repository, albeit with less frequency.
To those who've been following and to those who've been involved in some small way in shaping the past year - thanks. Hopefully the next year will bring even more excitement and adventure!
