A Japan Airlines (JL/JAL) Airbus A350 has been involved in a serious accident at Tokyo Haneda Airport on the evening of Tuesday, January 02, 2024. The aircraft collided with a De Havilland Canada DHC-8-315Q operated by the Japan Coast Guard on the runway at 17:47 local time. 

A significant fire subsequently took hold, with video footage of the firefighting efforts being shared widely around online and traditional media channels. 

The accident marks the first hull loss of an Airbus A350 aircraft.

The Dash-8 Last Flight

Piedmont Airlines is officially retiring the last of the Dash 8-100 fleet. Wednesday July 4th, 2018 it will make its final flight from Charlotte Douglas International Airport to Salisbury -Wicomico Regional Airport.

In December 2017 flights to & from Philadelphia Airport were transitioned to the Embraer 145 jet plane.

De Havilland Canada DHC- 8-102 - QANTAS New Zealand

Built in 1990, this aircraft was first delivered to Great China Airlines in June of the same year. Then sold to Ansett New Zealand, arriving on the 17th December 1995. The year 2000, saw the change of livery and ownership from Ansett to Qantas New Zealand, who also took over the BAe 146 fleet. The aircraft went on to serve with QANTAS NZ for 2 years before being turned over to Origin Pacific and then Air Marshall Islands, with which it is still active.

Built in 2005 and ordered new by Qantas this bird arrived in 2006 as the first of seven to be ordered by the airline. It is still currently in the Qantaslink / Sunstate fleet.
