Eoin was having a wonderful time painting various objects and masks on kids’ faces at the Spring Bash. Their booth was popular and well, Eoin liked kids. They were so much easier to talk to than adults. He was finishing up painting Dory from Finding Nemo on a child’s cheek when he finally saw an empty line, probably because it was noon and everyone was descending on the food trucks. Turning back to their table of paints, Eoin cleaned his brush and smiled at Teddy who was another volunteer at the booth.

“Hey,” Eoin said as he cleaned up his mess and nonverbally offered to help Teddy clean up, too. “You having fun?” he asked the other, giving Teddy a smile.

A view of her back, yes. Also, makes it more difficult for me to find her clit to help, but I'll do what the lady prefers.

Eoin was seated at his booth in the Neighborhood Market, plunking away as he painted a tea pot he’d made on the pottery wheel. He made very short and deliberate strokes around the The Hatter he’d already painted on the side, askew like even the viewer was drunk on what was inside the pot. His tongue was pressed to the back of his upper teeth and his hair was swept up into a bun. He wore an old, stained apron over his clothes as he managed to make painting a dreamy border look easy. He sensed someone step up to the booth, but didn’t readily look up.

“Touch anything you like, yeah? Just not the blown glass. Very fragile.” He kept painting and finally paused. “And if anything is up to high, I have a step stool.”

Eoin was cute. Lily was smitten with how sweet the sub was, and his adorable face and adorable curly hair and how he looked at her with such cute eyes. As she pulled up to the library, she could tell he’d been fretting and chuckled softly. For once, she wasn’t late because of her job - she wasn’t on call for once. 

Nope. This time she’d stopped at the florist and maybe got too involved in picking out flowers.

When he finally noticed her, and obviously hadn’t heard the reason she was running late, she held out a pretty bouquet of pink roses and baby’s breath. It was all very Lily. “Hello handsome!” she chirped.

“Flowers,” Eoin said in shock as he put away his phone in his satchel. “Are we surprising a new mother or are they, perhaps, for me?” he said in his vowel curtailing accent from England. “You do know how much I like flowers, especially roses, especially from you.”

Eoin pulled off his satchel and helped himself into the car and letting the bag of book hit the floor cover with a soft thud. He carefully took the flowers from her and his eyes closed as he breathed in the roses without putting his face fully in the bouquet. When he lowered them he was looking at Lily with a certain twinkle in his eyes as he smiled. “I shall put them in a tall vase on a table in front of my easel and then pant them in the morning light.” A pause. “It’s when I miss you most,” he added with blush blooming in his features. It was then that he remembered his seatbelt and try act as though he hadn’t forgotten the rules of the road while getting lost in Lily’s eyes.

“So, where to?” he asked after clearing his throat and picking up the flowers once more.

Eoin was waiting outside the Public Library, hoping his ride showed up soon. Lily was only a couple minutes late, but his anxiety had already run the gamut of ideas on what could be holding her up. The obvious choice, of course, was that she was a doctor and always on-call. That’s why he was staring hopelessly at his phone, wondering if she would have to cancel because a baby decided to change its due date.

To calm himself, Eoin breathed and thought about Lily. How beautiful she was and how undeserving he was What a lucky bastard he’d turned out to be, eh? To even have her look his way, his breath would hitch every time. She was fair and golden haired and so nurturing. Eoin was neurotic and awkward. How they had become friends he still didn’t understand, but he knew how she touched. He knew her taste and she wasn’t just his muse. She was his fate.

By the time he realized Lily’s car had pulled up, she’d already rolled down the window and said something to him. He flushed with embarrassment.
