In 2020 I started wondering what would I do if I could only make one more project in my life; if I pooled all my resources, money, and energy into one project, what would I create? What would come out of it? In the spring of 2021 that bucket list project came to fruition as a bunch of friends and I ran off to the desert to make a little film for a song that means quite a bit to me. This song has been “the one” for me for a long time, something thats personal magnitude I could feel immediately. It’s called “I Don’t Think Of You” and this is our film for it <3

The most honest song I’ve released in a while; it’s about anxiety, friends, and feeelingsss. Possibly a good song to cry to, possibly explains why I haven’t texted you back.

I mess up the lyrics a wee bit because @taylorswift had to put 18 songs on Lover (which came out a couple days ago) and I have so many new lyrics floating through my head that it’s hard to organize them all.

If anyone is wondering what’s going on in Hong Kong right now, people are protesting a bill that would allow for extradition of fugitive offenders. The issue people have with the proposed amendment is that it would open up the citizens of Hong Kong–which is independent–to falling under mainland Chinese law.

The bill potentially places in high risk anyone with openly critical views about the governing and policies in mainland China. Given that there have already been many abductions from Hong Kong–particularly of bookstore owners selling materials of a critical nature–this legislation would only enable the Chinese government in further silencing political dissent.

Bear in mind that mainland China is where Winnie the Pooh continues to be banned from mention on all social media because people were making humorous comparisons between Pooh and Xi Jinping–the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (aka the current President of China).

America is far from perfect, but at least we have the freedom to publicly ridicule the bags of raw sewage running this shitshow without fear of either censorship, or legislation that would allow the government to arrest us for it.

That was a lot of fuckin' words just to say that you also don't understand the theme of this year's Met Gala either. The theme was CAMP; all of that shit about space for multiple representations and blah blah blah is nice, but it literally misses the point of the post, which was that Taryn Egerton and Rami Malek played two CAMP icons and managed to take nothing away from the experience, resulting in them showing up at the Met Gala looking boring as all hell.

Why the hostility? I feeeeel you, but I also know they were invited, and I dunno, if you’re invited to a gala perhaps you don’t have to choose between feeling uncomfortable and going; if they felt most themselves in what they wore rather than in something bigger, I personally don’t think they should have to stay home. Truth be told though, anon, I don’t know a lot about the met gala or camp in general and I’m open to being wrong, though I would prefer pleasant conversation to swearing at me.

So listennnn I heaarrr y’all, but when I think about this I think about my best friend. He’s a lovely, shy, wonderful QPOC, and typically keeps his wardrobe pretty functional but cute; collared shirts, button downs, dark pants, ya know. If he were invited to the Met I bet he’d wear a wonderful suit, something with a lil razzle dazzle that pushed him just a little out of his comfort zone.  He’d probably feel so cute and pleased, then go on twitter to find people calling him basic and sad. And listennnn. Not everyone feels okay wearing big, loud, awesome outfits. Why can’t we have space for both? My friend is my bandmate, and is incredibly artsy, but likes to keep his wardrobe comfortable; should folks who feels this way not be welcomed in such spaces?

Most people associate only cishets with looks like the ones on the left, but not all queer folks and femme folks want to have bigger looks. Let people wear what they want and celebrate who you love without bashing what others are wearing 2k19. I know folks are holding the women at the met to a much higher standard; that sucks too!!! don't do that!!!!
