Lila purred and kneaded Ahadi’s chest lightly, careful not to snag his clothes or cut him. Being a cat was pretty awful but she had to admit: sometimes it could be pretty rewarding. Like she didn’t have to buy clothes or pay rent. She didn’t have to worry about not having food (although she wished it wasn’t dry food.) and she got to cuddle with a hot guy all the time. Sure, she was a cat, but was it really all that bad.

When she heard him snore she closed her eyes slowly, enjoying the warm body beneath her. Yeah, she could get used to this.

It was late when he woke up. Digging into his pocket, he found his phone and checked the time. 9PM, perfect time for shower and dinner. The rustling might have woken his sleeping kitten but he tried to not rouse her from sleep. Lila was not a happy girl when she was woken up non voluntarily. 

Carefully picking her up and gently placing her down on the couch, he tiptoed out of the living room and into his room. He tugged at the hem of his shirt and with one quick motion, he pulled off the shirt to prepare for his shower.

She had been lounging around all day waiting for Ahadi to get back. Lila hated to admit it but she enjoyed his company. Nothing in the apartment held any interest to her when she was like this and he was how she kept from being bored. And when he left for class she always got terribly bored. She tried playing with the toys he got her, and those worked for a bit, but soon she decided that if she couldn’t find anything interesting she’d just nap on the sunny windowsill in his bedroom. Nice and warm, Lila catnapped until she heard the lock turn and her green eyes snapped open. She stretched and then jumped down, padding across the room and sticking her head out right as he slumped onto the couch. She purred at the sight of him and waited a good minute to head over to him after he called her (she didn’t want to seem desperate.) She jumped up on his chest mewling lightly, and nuzzled his face.

He smiled when he felt her jump onto his chest and nuzzle his face. He nuzzled her face with his cheek. He stroked the fur of her back gently. Still he wouldn’t open his eyes. Ahadi continued petting her little head, the gesture realxing him. Adopting Lila was an impulse decision, but he was content with that decision. Sure, she would hiss and claw at couple of girls he brought over but she hadn’t caused him too many notable problems. A couple of scratches here and there, but Ahadi survived. 

“You’re a good kitten, Lila.” He yawned before bringing the kitten away from his face and closer to his chest. She was warm against him. Warmth radiated off her little body and past the fabric of his shirt. Pulling his arm and hugging his pet, he then drifted off into sleep, lightly snoring.
