This year was a lot..
The good: Just turned 35. Just hit 7 years of marriage. Settling into a new home and making hopeful plans for the future.
The bad : Just learned that Figaro has heart disease. My sweet boy has been diagnosed with too big of a heart. On one hand I'm grateful that we caught it now. We can start adjusting to give him the best chances at a happy life. But also, poor little dude hates the medication we have to give him twice a day.
It's weird because, right now I can't look at any picture of a pet without bawling. But I also feel comfort and joy from seeing those pet pictures. I knew we'd have to face something like this eventually. Every pet parent does. But I hate it and it hurts already.

word on the street is that there's an inprnt sale on. you could possibly buy a print of some kind.
Michelangelo's Moses sculpture. Carved in Carrara marble between 1513 and 1515.
I think we could really make inroads at dismantling the two gender system if we simply implement ranked choice gender

I think that when you're overstimulated you should appear kind of grayed out and no one should be able to interact with you like a locked character in a video game
In the past two weeks I've watched Love Through a Prism, Primal, and Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein.
There isn't a ton of crossover between the three (...well actually there's a good amount of crossover between Primal and Frankenstein..) but an interesting shared theme that stands out to me is the human urge to record the moment.
In Love Through a Prism the artists are motivated to create by an urge to remember the moment. Lili and Kit want to draw faster and better so they can record the light and color of their world exactly as they see it.
In Primal, Spear often only finds peace and understanding when drawing or viewing stories on cave walls. Specifically the act of drawing these memories acts as a salve to his rage.
In Frankenstein, "the creature" only begins to acknowledge their experiences after learning to read/speak. Revisiting memories with the ability to explain and share his perspective is his first step towards joy.
I dont think these are the main themes of any of these stories, but I do think the act of recording and creating holds importance in all of them.
I'm dwelling on this because Im constantly looking for a reason to draw or write or share thoughts.
And I'm tired. I don't want to keep looking for a reason but I seem to need one to stay motivated. I just want to make things whether they matter or not. Just for the sake of recording whatever Im feeling in the moment.
But I don't think I can without feeling more purpose to it.
I'm trying to rewire my brain to accept "remembering my experiences" as my motivation. Wanting to record and keep and share. That should be enough.
