The British Youth Championships 2016 start tomorrow at the EIS in Sheffield. New champions, new NIFs and a full day of tension guaranteed!

Elite Epee #4

The final event of the Elite Epee series takes place this weekend, and it's going to be a strong competition throughout all the age groups. Provisional NIF values based on the updated entry list are as follows; u13 boys - 24.75 u15 boys - 69 u13 girls - 22 u15 girls - 51.75

A busy weekend of fencing with many qualification events for the British Youth Championships taking place. We were at the South East region competition, which had a huge turnout. As soon as the regions make their results available, I'll add them in to epee.me

Less than 2 weeks to go before we head out to Poland for Challenge Wratislavia!

Action from the British Schools Team Championships yesterday. 174 teams competing in the foil, sabre & epee. We were there for the u11 boys epee, and had a great day!

Action from the Valerie Degorce International Youth Trophy in Chichester this weekend.

It's Elite Epee #3 tomorrow at Moulton College. Last year it was snowing on the day and very cold - no repeat of that by the looks of things. Provisional NIF values for the day are as follows;

U13 Boys - 30 U15 Boys - 65.25 U13 Girls - 18 U15 Girls - 54.25

And then on Sunday it's down to Chichester for the much anticipated Valerie Degorce International Youth Trophy. No NIF for that as it's not a ranking event - but if it was, it would be 25 for the boys & 31.25 for the girls.

A change of focus for me at weekend - and it gave me a great insight in to what it takes to run a competition. 8 hours on the computer running the u10s, u12s, u14s, u16s & u19s foil, epee & sabre events. Keeping track of it all and ensuring the whole event ran to time was very much a challenge - even more so as it was the first time I'd used the Engarde software.
