Since you have to think about transportation and stuff a lot when making cosplay I planned the dragon to be able to spectate into multiple pieces. Theoretically you take it apart at all the joints of the legs and even the head is removable. For detaching and attaching the wings I used my "special technique" and an improvised connection which connects them in the dragons chest. Little tip: It all has to to with a certain kind of Lego. :D
I finally have a phone again which means I can take pictures of my progress again! :D and guess who this dragon is? It's Sindragosa, from World of Warcraft. Raised from the dead by the Lich King and now she's a Boss in Ice Crown Citadel. The only things missing are the tail, the teeth and the LEDs. (and painting of course ^^) Her Legs and Wings are moveable, I will probably do a tutorial for that in the future. :)
Btw in case you didn't know I'm also on Facebook. My page is Ephexa Cosplay. :)
That's basically the plan for making the leg armor.. Actually I already made to basic parts of the leg armor, buuut I'm not really satisfied with how the thigh and hip armor looks. Still have 3,5 sheets of Worbla left, soo.. ^^
Bracer, Breastplate and left Shoulder-piece done.
Breastplate and left Bracer are done! (Well, the LEDs are still missing) The left shoulder piece is too, maybe I'll remember taking a pic of it tomorrow. Next up is the leg armor, and I have no idea how to make to leg armor out of worbla but I still want to be able to move in it. So it's impossible to make it look 100% like the reference. I guess I'll have to improvise then.
Update
Have almost every armor-part basically done. bracers, shin-armor, thigh-armor, upper arm-armor (left) without detailing. right now I'm working on the details of the breastplate. Left shoulder is almost finished with priming, soon ready for painting.
Shoulder Armor - WIP (ready for priming and painting) wooo ~('-'~)
WIP - Pauldron / Shoulder Armor
Both bracers done, wooo!!
WIP Bracer - Rogue Deathmantle Tier 5 Need to do the detailing on the edges and then it'll be ready to be primed and painted.
5 sheets of worbla. 4 sheets of craft foam. 3 months of time. 2 round ball-thingies and 1 pack of deco art. i'm so gonna be stuck in this room.
you had me at "Exorcizamus te, omnis immundus spiritus".
Finally! In a few days I'll get the Craft Foam, Worbla and Deco Art I ordered and I can start crafting the armor and weapons for my rogue! Tomorrow is my last Test at University this semester, which means I can indulge in crafting and cosplaying until March. - Deathmantle T5 - Warblades of the Hakkari
slowly the pieces are coming together. can't wait to have them all so I can put them together. btw the sword is going to be bigger than I am. WIP Gurthalak from WoW (Raid: Dragonsoul, Boss: Deathwings Madness)
