Sheltered Mettam's Pool is a good family spot in which you can see a range of marine plant and animal species close to shore.

It is less than two metres deep inside this naturally formed lagoon.

A reasonably good range of fish species resides within the pool, particularly in the holes and crevices in the southern section. They include red-lip morwong, banded sweep, bullseyes, wrasse, schools of buffalo bream, sea mullet, tarwine and of course blowfish. Sand whiting and Australian herring can be seen in the open water.

You may also notice a few anemones growing within the pool, while cushion stars, abalone and other shellfish species hide in the rocky reef top.

• While the snorkelling inside the lagoon is easy, the surge can be strong on the outer edge of the reef.

• Beware of cobblers in the weed near the shore.

Point Walter Reserve is located in Bicton on Honour Avenue. Perfect for paddle boarding, kiteboarding and fishing but due to it's size, natural beauty, abundance of wildlife and facilities this place make for the perfect location for many outdoor occasions. Here you will find BBQs, toilets, a café, shaded playgrounds, tennis courts, canoe and paddleboard hire. Fish Market Reserve in Guildford is a popular spot to throw your in your tinny, fish, swim, kayak and stand up paddle board especially when the wind is blowing along the coast. You can expect to catch Black Bream during the summer months. Weekends can get busy at the boat ramp and large boats may have a bit of trouble launching. The park has BBQ's, playground and picnic tables. A great spot to set up and explore the tranquil surrounds at any time of the year!

This episode of Epic Drives Western Australia I took my kids four wheel driving for a long weekend of camping, fishing and swimming in the south west of WA. Starting in Walpole we visited Peaceful Bay, Banksia Camp, Rame Head, Broke Inlet, Salmon Beach and Conspicuous Cliff in the truly stunning D'Entrecasteaux National Park. This place was made for 4 wheeling on the beach and the ideal place for beginners to wander out yonder!#walpole

Kalbarri, Western Australia's resort town at the mouth of the Murchison River and home to iconic locations and rugged scenery.

With Christmas fast approaching and with the majority of travellers heading down south for the holidays we snuck out for a sneaky four day road trip north. First up was Lucky Bay, this beach campsite is home to a perfectly protected lagoon (if your keen on four wheel driving north up the beach a kilometre or two... which we did and were rewarded with a picturesque albeit windy camp for the night.) Famous for it's spearfishing and massive Mulloway, Lucky bay is one of the best beaches i've had the privilege of camping on.

The following day we packed up camp and headed to Rainbow Valley and Red Bluff, both scenic walks along the coastal cliffs and ended the day swimming and fishing along the Murchison River in Kalbarri where we camped for our third night.

For our final day we headed to Kalbarri National Park, home to Natures Window, the Kalbarri Sky Walk and Z Bend before heading back to Perth just in time to recover before Christmas!

Point Road Camping Area: 34º 5' 37.31" S, 115º 1' 16.86" E

Boranup Camping Area: 34º 10' 45.39" S, 115º 4' 7.16" E

Hamelin Bay Caravan Park: 34º 13' 20.86" S, 115º 1' 45.51" E

With the weather warming up here in Western Australia a few crew and I took a 3 day, four wheel drive trip down south. Following the Cape to Cape track and Caves road in the Margaret River Region.

The south west of WA is a mecca for 4W Driving, camping and fishing adventures!

Despite this coastline being a tourist 'hotspot' there is still an abundance of 4WD tracks along Caves Road from Cape Naturaliste in Dunsborgh to Cape Leewin in Augusta.

This trip took us to stunning locations such as Wilyabrup Beach, Conto Springs, North Point and Hamlin Bay to name but a few.

If your looking for an easy, scenic 4 wheel drive trip then this region is well worth exploring as you #wanderoutyonder

It's been 3 years since I first experienced the Holland Track. Accompanied by Matty and Will we drove the track in the reverse order, starting in Coolgardie and ending in Hyden, four days later.

WA has some of the countries most iconic 4WD tracks and the Holland Track is definitely one of them. *For the ultimate 4x4 and camping adventure do yourself a favour and plan a trip down this epic track!

*The Holland track is a long distance 4WD track. Proper preparation is required to ensure your safety, do not attempt this track alone unless you are experienced in remote travel and survival.

I am so lucky to be a West Aussie, I am so fortunate to have a back yard the size of Germany, France, Ecuador, Italy and Portugal combined! The best part for me is’s mostly off-road! That easily equates to an entire lifetime of exploration and im only 3 years into my journey. 🤙 Despite already having covered 10's of 1000's of kilometres off the black top I have only seen a tiny fraction of what Western Australia has to offer.
