Personally I enjoy hearing others' words, but sometimes my adhd makes me forget what I'm going to say so I have to say it before I forget which might sometimes be annoying?

no no no, i have adhd and i do that too sometimes, but that’s not what i’m talking about. i’m talking about the entitlement of treating someone as a diary and not even asking if they want to have a conversation or are ready to listen to you before just going on a rant and then not even letting them get a word in. it’s not just accidental dumping, it’s a lack of consideration about the other party’s feelings and energy and not caring about if they even want to hear you. and i said men because men are taught that everything they say is important and wanted to be heard by everyone while women are taught to be quiet and listen. so when men demonstrate this, it’s not just “sorry i forgot to let you speak,” it’s “i don’t care if you speak or not because you’re going to listen to my Very Important Words” and they are so busy talking at you and assuming that you care that they don’t even pay attention to if you’re really listening or not. and, in my experience, if you tell them you don’t want to have this conversation then they accuse you of being careless or “a bitch”, and if you even do listen and try to respond or get a word in, they accuse you of interrupting and being disrespectful of their authority in this one-sided convo. it’s just really rude and i can’t stand when people (but usually men) do it.
