“It’s fine... really.” Besides, he had already bent down to start picking up the handful of books that had been bumped from his grasp. He did pause, though, to give the young woman a smile. “I should have been paying more attention. Are you all right?”
He thinks for a moment. “It seems doubtful, though not completely impossible. They’ve never been the type for complete subtlety; a regular life in a city this way seems a bit on the boring side, especially for them.”
“Maybe you’re right... but this city isn’t really normal, either. They’ve got creatures from all over the place.” But that wasn’t proof of anything, so he didn’t push the question. It was up in the air, no matter how he sliced it.
“...how are you holding up here, anyway, Kin-chan?”
He stood in silence, momentarily forgetting he was in a public space. After the initial shock ended, he straightened himself out and cleared his throat. “…It would appear that way. I wouldn’t have expected to see you here, although I suppose I wouldn’t have expected to be here either.”
“No... I guess you wouldn’t. None of us would.” Hard to miss the edge of the cold shoulder there, but just walking away from a friend in a place like this was madness, so far as he was concerned. “You don’t think it’s another attempt from... them, do you?”

The streets of Hive City were far too crowded. There was absolutely no order with them; something he’s always hated about large cities. That’s not saying he preferred smaller towns, of course, but he was sure there would be a more efficient way to handle paths. While thinking of how much he’d be able to improve them, his arm bumped against another person. Turning around to glare at them, Kusatsu’s face soon turned surprised.
“…Ah.”
The odd bump wasn’t exactly uncommon, Atsushi had quickly found. So when an arm grazed him, it was almost an automatic motion to turn his head to apologize.
The words died before he could find them, though, replaced by a surprised look to match the one looking back at him.
“Kin-chan...? You’re here, too?”

Atsushi…..that’s a girl’s pose…..
“It said ‘Eccentrum’… My English is kinda so-so, but that’s not even English, so I’m at least 80 percent sure we’re in the right place.”
En picked at the clothes that hung on the racks, raising an eyebrow at some of the gauzier shirts that appeared on the men’s side of the store. For some reason, it seemed perfectly reasonable for Gero to promote clothes like these–even if it seemed odd for Gero to promote anything at all. Still, it seemed like the advertisements that featured him and all the other models were doing their work. The place was certainly humming with people coming to claim Christmas presents and more–though it struck En as a little weird that most people seemed to be leaving with dresses and suits than anything.
“I don’t know if Gero’s actually here, but we figured it was a crap shoot going into this. Even if we find him, there’s no guarantee he’ll actually acknowledge our existence, even after everything we went through.” The blond pulled himself away from the clothes and turned to look up at an advertisement hanging on the wall. “Hey, Atsushi… You heard anything about this ‘Winter Ball’ thing?”
En had a point, no one had really expected much out of this trip. Between who they were looking to deal with, and the place... well. It was obvious enough. Rather than argue otherwise, Atsushi merely nodded, attention already on one of the shirts hanging nearby.
The change in subject made him freeze for a second regardless, before finally turning his head to follow En’s gaze. The advertisement was hard to miss.
“Only in passing. They’re throwing it for New Year’s, I think.” His gaze lingered a moment longer on the paper, before he glanced instead to his partner in crime. “Looks like we found one of the places booming from it.”

“En-chan, you’re sure this is the right place?”
Atsushi quirked a brow at the store they had just wandered into; supposedly where a familiar face was modelling for, according to posters. The fashion part didn’t surprise him, really, so much as...something else. He couldn’t quite put his finger on what.
“Will we even find Gero-kun just by showing up? I don’t think models come in to work most days...”
Then again, thanks to the season, the place seemed busy. Who knew, maybe his gut was wrong and he was there after all.
Being something like a veteran of this city, Schuyler has learned about the ins and outs the city had to offer. She knew where things were located, where to avoid walking through at night, what restaurants had the best food ( okay, that one was more opinionated but still ) and she tried to offer her services when she could. If there was one advantage she had in the city, it was that she was very familiar with modern technology and the way this place looked. She spies ahead of her someone who was clearly struggling– whether or not they were new to the city or not, she couldn’t tell, but as she comes closer to them she couldn’t help but speaking out. Maybe she could help?
“I hope I’m not intruding, but–”
Looking at them curiously, her expression was gentle, and she clearly meant no harm if that was what they worried about. There’s a friendly smile on her face, ready to go.
“Is there anything I can help with,? You look like you’re either lost, or confused about something, if you don’t mind me saying.”
Truth be told, getting lost was about all Atsushi had managed to accomplish since arriving in the city. After all, it was a good deal larger than what he was used to, never mind the oddities that came with it. As it was, he was still glad he had managed to find his apartment, let alone much else.
At the moment, he was glancing around for any sign of a map; and distracted enough that even a gentle voice nearly made him jump.
“Wh...” Oh. He quickly blinked when he found the source, with a smile of his own soon to follow. Embarrassing as his problem was, it was a relief to find someone apparently willing to help.
“I guess I didn’t do too well hiding it,” he laughed, “I’ve been trying to find the library. Guess I haven’t been here long enough to know where to look yet.”
Nope. Totally didn’t plan on sleeping tonight or anything.
“I’m glad I found En-chan, but...”
“That game is... messier than i had imagined.”

Please make sure you read this post! We’re going to be touching on a few things that you need to take note of!
Regarding applications:
Please make sure you are including ooc contact! It isn’t mandatory you place it on the application, but if you opt not to you must send it in a separate ask when you apply! It doesn’t matter if you reserved on anon or not (actually, it’s particularly important in these cases), you still need to send it!
Please make sure you are giving enough details in your abilities section! The expectation is that you guys are explaining your character’s abilities in a way that someone unfamiliar with the series would be able to comprehend them! Remember the app isn’t just for the mods to read, but also everyone else!
Please make sure your application is linked on your blog! We’ve been asking you nicely for over a year now and we’re finally going to start cracking down on this because it’s just getting worse. It doesn’t matter if you’re accepted already, it needs to stay on your blog. As of the next update, it is now mandatory to have your application linked on your sidebar (or a links page). If it isn’t, your app will be rejected until it is. If you remove your application after you’re accepted and it is brought to our attention, we will be approaching you about it.
Balancing (Magical Girls / Boys):
There have been some inconsistencies regarding transformation limitations for characters from the mahou shoujo / shounen genre, so we’re just going to take a second to address that!
If your character has a transformation that gives them a costume change, it is perfectly fine to use it without limitations as of now. However, any physical benefits that one might have received based on their old limitations will be restricted to the original time limit. So, if your character could transform into a magical girl and had enhanced strength for 20 minutes, the strength will still wear off after the first twenty minutes have passed! Basically, it will be simply aesthetic.
This does not apply to characters outside of this genre such as Super Sentai, because these costumes are generally full-body armored.
Regarding the Expansion Pack:
As I’m sure you all know, the expansion pack goes live tonight at 12:00AM EST, December 9th! The second it hits midnight, you’re free to send in your request until 12:00AM EST on December 10th!
Unfortunately, we weren’t able to give out all of the challenges we needed to before today, however we’ve decided to implement a clause for those individuals.
Listed beneath a cut will be every challenge request in the askbox that has not been handed out. If you are on this list, you will still be eligible to claim Savior once you get your challenge after tomorrow provided you complete it 72 hours after receiving it! Of course, this doesn’t apply if your muse hasn’t been in the group for 8 months.
If you do not see your muse listed under the cut, please resend your challenge request because any requests sent after midnight tonight will not count towards this exception!

“Was it real, after all?”
This was not the first time he had seen Hive City. The first time had been so brief, however, that Atsushi had dismissed it as a strange dream. Finding himself there again, and lucid, made him quickly consider otherwise.
Adjusting his glasses, he let out a quiet sigh. The only clear option, for now, was to explore. A solution would present itself sooner or later, he figured.
Hopefully sooner. If he was here, who knew what trouble En-chan and the others were also being pulled into.

After an hour of considering that theory, all he had managed to conclude was that the city was bigger than he’d expected. Too big, if it were up to him.
Either way, the growl of his stomach was quick to decide his next move. With the calmest smile he could muster under these circumstances, he approached the nearest seemingly unoccupied figure.
“Excuse me, but are you familiar with the area?”
After that, well, who knew. One step at a time.
