racism isn’t just annoying it is literally traumatizing and a lot of brown and black folk have ptsd from the racism we have experienced. i feel like this isnt taken into account in any racism discussions had by white people and it’s honestly upsetting.

When I first came out to my school, I immediately got a message from an openly lesbian girl at my school, and she told me how proud she was of me. She gave me her number and told me to talk to her if I ever needed to talk about anything. Over time, our relationship has grown to the point where we are essentially each other’s support systems. She’s the first person I go to when I need to rant, complain, or just cry it out. I adore her and I don’t know what I would do without her in my life. Coming out brings out the true colors in everyone around you, and it can even sprout new relationships that you never expected. I like to think that coming out is one moment of terror that leads to a lifetime of happiness.
