There might be a little delay on chapter 22, I accidentally made it too long so I'm going to have to split it. Everybody please pretend to be surprised that I accidentally wrote too much. Also I'm trying to add something a little special to the chapter, but it involves coding and tbh I'm just not that good at html. So that might delay things a bit (we will see if I break down and just Photoshop that shit into existence with my own two hands).

The chapter is fully finished but I'm stuck in editing hell. I recently learned about past perfect tense changes and I've been making myself go insane re-reading the chapter for flow. 😭 I was an English major, this should not have been new information for me, and yet somehow I'd never learned about it when I was at college (a lot of my writing is based on vibes, in case that wasn't already obvious). Somebody save me from myself or I'm going to keep editing this chapter into oblivion LOL

I'm going to need y'all to pelt me with rocks if I don't get this thing posted by Saturday.

(jewelry anon again hi) sometimes people who don’t want or can’t wear visible earrings/studs wear specific “invisible” earrings which are clear in order to make sure the piercing doesn’t close so maybe he has those? (maybe just a really good really invisible brand lol. there’s been numerous casualties in their apartment by accidentally stepping on lost earrings..) either way Regect would lwk be freaked tf out for getting all those piercings when his ears are sensitive which:thank you for the food

That's a very good point, he could definitely be wearing those. I also like the idea of a brand of entity earrings that are able to become invisible along with the entity (sort of like Violet's suit in The Incredibles). I feel like there's a few ways to get around Regect's invisible head, I will be pondering this until I have to make some sort of decision. 🤔

Also, I'm kind of tempted to give him a coinslot (which is a body mod where they cut out of some of the tissue of your cartilage so you can stack rings), because I have one and I think they're super cool. We will see what I cook up once it becomes relevant to the story.

Time to write Ze tugging on Regect's ear/earrings, and Regect reacting exactly how you'd expect. 😏

There’s no normal way for me to ask this sorry in advance but does Regect have ears? I’m assuming he has the inner structures required for hearing but does he have auricular feathers covering the ear opening(????) or does he have the actual external ear (or those cute little wing ears)?? wondering because I wanted to know if he has any daily jewelry like earrings or necklaces he doesn’t take off

Thank you anon, I love this question because it's honestly not something I had thought about before you asked. I think my favorite option is Regect having pointy ears, but they kind of blend in/are tucked against the side of his head if that makes sense?

Jury is still out on whether or not he has earrings. Part of me would love to make him have a billion piercings, but also the physical stuff that he wears doesn't disappear when he turns himself invisible so that would mean he'd just have a bunch of floating earrings which feels silly? Maybe he has the piercings and only wears earrings on special occasions. We will see. >: )

Necklaces/other types of jewelry are the type of thing he only really wears on special occasions/when going out. Though, who knows, maybe Ze will give him something at some point that he'll wear more consistently. ; )

Btw his ears are really sensitive, because I say so (this may or may not come up during the strip poker chapter that we are slowly but surely getting closer to actually reaching).

Someone wrote a comment that made me lol so much I decided to give them a treat and show them a teaser for chapter 22. Posting this here on the 'blr as well, because I can (putting it under the cut, because reading this basically gives away exactly whose POV we are switching to, it's a little spoilery).

The text chain, aptly named “do they know it's legal???”, was all about one thing and one thing only: betting on when their mutual friends would finally “freak it nasty style behind the Denny's parking lot” (she had Mason to thank for that particularly vivid visual). The entire group chat consisted of sending each other pictures of Regect and Ze acting "gay as hell", making photo manips making fun of the two, or posting general updates on how the "couple" was acting. She tried to stay out of the group chat as much as possible, even though her friends were constantly trying to get her to update them on the "state of affairs in the Zegect nation" by constantly bothering her for updates.
