Loving the beautiful illustrations that Liz Clements creates.......not entirely sure how they're done...but maybe a combination of pencil & Photoshop?! A very 'tattoo' style but with a softened, grungy, 'elegance'.....a hard combo to achieve!

Sorry to use such an overused Americanism but: O M G!!! Just discovered the amazing work of Ben Heine. When you look at something and think what a simple idea, why didn't I goddam think of it!! Well this is one of those moments! He works in various media.....but this has to be my favourite. Simplicity of colour, shapes & composition......damn good stuff!!!
The weird & wonderful work of Matt Small is a wonder to behold. The Royal College of Art graduate paints & prints with a kaleidoscopic array of bright & sombre colours to produce his trademark portraits of 'marbled colour' meets marginalised individuals. A gritty topic handled with the appropriate splashes of light, dark & confusion.
Another extraordinary montage illustrator: Eduardo Recife. Must be my kind of thing!!
He's been drawing since he was little........"At school I had notebooks filled with drawings instead of notes. I used to tattoo my buddies with a black ink pen. I used to draw on any kind of surface when I was bored... I believe its what I do best. Its also the best way for me to comunicate things I cant find words for... Its a theraphy, its a hobbie, its a job,its what makes me happy".......
No one can fail to be captivated by the mesmerising images created by Maggie Taylor. Starting her career as a still-life photographer she began to use the computer to create her images in 1987. Her elegantly Almost Alice series captures a haunting & nostalgic look at the famous C S Lewis story. Maybe her degree in philosophy gives her a deep insight into the darker corners of people's minds and her ability to create these captivating 'vistas'. Enjoy!
Things look perfect at first sight......but all is not what it seems......our minds tend to fill in the gaps....... Love the work of Bug Wang (yes her real name).......a self proclaimed 'ruminator' and a doer Bug likes to observe and explore the phenomena underneath the surface of things........
Such stunning macro photographs created by award winning Magdalena Wasiczek from Poland....just takes my breath away with it's magical richness of color and detail.......Just amazing!
.....for the love of God I wish I could remember where I found this & who did it.......just beautiful pure & simple.....nuff said.......
Robert Mars work is a chronicle of Americana.....he captures the independent aesthetic of the not-so-distant past with subtle use of colour & printed matter from the 1950’s and 1960’s. Remote, indistinct landscapes capture the once poetic, and now nearly lost highway strips of the American past. Formerly the promise of hope and prosperity; these icons are now a sign of desperation and ruin........just haunting work.......
James Dawe's work has echoes of Guiseppe Arcimboldo......specialising in contemporary photo collage from everyday images; James creates surreal and fantastical illustrations.......check him out!
I think to call Áron Jancsó a typographer is to over simplify what he creates.......the self confessed type addict builds from scratch, preferring shapes and structures instead of effects.........a beautiful blend of modernism, street culture and calligraphy, but with an overwhelming experimental style.....just lush!
Look very closely.......all is not what it seems.......just exquisite creations from Dan Funderburgh. This piece is called Spirits in the Material World. His tongue is firmly in his cheek with most of his work.....check out his wallpaper: Death from Above....and his bike design: Obama.........
Lovin' the retro feel of Siggi Eggertsson.......colours have a Victorian Christmas Card smokey 'feel' to them. Love this particular font with it's 'carnival/fairground' appearance......generally beautiful stuff......
......yeah we've all seen the papergraphic art......but Yulia Brodskaya did it first & let's face it....what's not to love? Let's see where she takes her papercraft in 2012......
Again simplicity at it's best......it ain't gonna win a design award but it goddam should......the humorous work of Christoph Niemann.......
.......what kind of mind wants to know what the inside of a Gummi Bear looks like or a Lego figure? Why it's Jason Freeny's.....the guy's a genius.....well in my opinion!
Awesome work by visual designer of Greek origin; Charis Tsevis. Particular note goes to his new Gatorade Evoluciona & New Line G series advertising campaign.
