Eric blushed and smiled. “I know what you mean. I’m just  terrible at getting dates.” He said rubbing the back of his neck. “ I always say the wrong thing and I’m kinda boring.” He chuckled. “ I mean who wants to spend the night chatting about history.” He shook his head. “It’s not exactly something that attracts people to me.”

“Hey, I’m glad to know it’s not just me. Being clumsy all of these years has just rewired my brain, I suppose. One growth spurt and I was never the same again.” he laughed “Restauranteur, myself, which is a little less hazardous. I’ve certainly broken many dishes in my day, but at least they weren’t one of a kind ancient dishes or anything like that. I’m a hazard in any museum.” He gestured to the bar “Can I get you a drink?”

Eric chuckled. “ Yeah but I can imagine  your kitchen isn't a place to be clumsy.” He pointed out with a smile. “ What type of restaurant is it?” He asked and then smiled “ Yeah sure, I’ll have a Guinness.” Eric looked around at the wedding a smiled. “ I love the location of this wedding its so well thought out.”

“I mean…it’s worth a shot” she nodded and followed him over to his car, her brows raising a little at the car in front of her. It was notably nicer than anything she’d ever ridden in before. Glancing around she bounced her leg a little until they arrived to the house, a low whistle leaving her lips at the sight of it, again much nicer than anywhere she’d been in recent times. Following him inside she smiled a little more at the dog that bounded over and sniffed at her hand. “I love dogs” she nodded and allowed the dog to examine her for another minute before following him into the kitchen. “Uh yeah a beer would be nice, thanks” she nodded once as she looked around, her hands in her pockets again, handing over the phone when he asked. “It’s really nice of you to do all this” she said as she sat down at the table next to him

Eric smiled. “ I’m just grateful you are letting me play with your phone. Most people wont.” He murmured and then grabbed them a beer before sitting down and starting to work on her phone. “Well it just looks like shattered glass so that’s a good thing.” He fiddled a little bit more and lifted the glass from the phone and then quickly placed his old screen on it. “ There that should do it.” He switched it on and it lit up. “ There you go good as new.”

“It’s alright…probably due for a new one..” she mumbled, frowning down at the phone in her hand as she examined the cracked screen with a sigh. Of course this phone was less than a year old, but she didn’t mention that as she glanced up at him when he put his hand out. “Yeah..sure…” she eyed it warily before handing it over. “I’m not sure if shattered screens are your expertise but…” She sighed a little. shoving her hands into her pockets

Eric smiled. “ I can give it a try.” His words were soft and he had a optimistic smile. “My car is this way.” He said and walked over to his Bentley, Eric opened the door and let her in and then got in the drivers seat. “ Hold on to this while I drive.” He said with a smile and drove back to his place. Once parked up in the garage, he climbed and walked towards the Victorian style house. “ This is my place. “Do you like dogs?” He asked as he opened the door and his Akita bounded up to him. “ Max sit.” He murmured and the dig sat down and sniffed Lu’s hand. “ Did you want a drink ?” He asked as he walked through the house to the kitchen. “ I have the usual, coffee, tea, herbal teas, sodas, wine, beer.” He murmured as he went into the kitchen and started to rummage around till he found his old phone. “Ah... this could be useful for a screen.” He said and then got out a small selection of screwdrivers and sat at the table. “ Can I have the phone?”

Erics House

Eric lives in a Victorian style home in the historical district near the museum. He lives with his dog and has been renovating since 2017. The building is circa 1802 and  was home to a prominent figure throughout the Victorian era. He is currently restoring the staircase and is about to renovate the loft and the spare room not shown.

The house is a 3 bedroom, two bathroom house with a pond and garage, It has a jacuzzi in the main bathroom and a library and office.

Since the wedding Lu had kept herself in a slight haze, not wanting to deal with anything except for making it through her shifts at work and going home. She’d tried to cover the obvious bags under her eyes with makeup as best she could, and kept her sweater on, despite the high temperatures both behind the espresso bar and outside, to cover the obvious marks that marred her arms now. Walking out from the backroom she slipped her earbuds in her ear and hit play on her music for her walk home. Scrolling through her emails as she kept her head down until she walked directly into someone, sending her stumbling back and her phone clattering out of her hand to the ground, ripping the earbuds out on it’s way down. “Shit, sorry” she murmured, as she bent to pick up her phone with a groan, looking at it’s shattered screen before sighing then glancing the person she had collided into. “I should’ve been paying attention, you okay?”

Eric had just been heading home from a long day at the museum when he bumped into Lu. He had spoken to her once or twice, but today he hadn't seen her recently until she had bounced off his chest. “Oops.” Eric murmured and then saw her pick up her phone. “ No harm done.. well unless you mean your phone.” He  tilted his head with a soft smile and then put his hand out. “ Can I take a look? I kinda fix things in my spare time. I built a computer the other day so I could probably take a look at this, if you dont mind popping back to my place.” He suggested.

“Oh that’s a lovely idea! I should’ve considered that…I work part time in a library as well so it’d be like bringing it home” she laughed softly and shook her head. “You do not! You look very handsome. You pull off the suit and tie look very well. I just keep feeling like I stick out like a sore thumb, I’m not used to being dressed up like this in any way” She motioned to herself. “I had to get my makeup done as I don’t wear it ever”

“You look lovely.” Eric said with a smile. “ And I appreciate the compliment, but I kinda feel old and boring.” Eric chuckled. “ Your hair and make up look  really nice and suit the dress well. Was it strange getting your make up done or was it like a pamper session?”

“I’m not sure it’s the wedding of the century, nor am I convinced that it was better than an actual royal wedding” she chuckled, biting at her bottom lip almost nervously. Of course, in her opinion it was the most beautiful wedding to be planned and put on, but as the bride she figured she had the right to that opinion; she wasn’t aware that maybe other people also felt that way. “A weekend spa?” Ezra’s eyebrows furrowed then, knowing the gift was far too extravagant, but not wanting to seem ungrateful for it. “Thank you, for the gift. We’re staying in the states for a few more days before we head to Thailand. I want to be able to settle down a little bit, especially after this planning process. I feel like I need eight years of sleep.”

“Well I think it is.” Eric said in a reassuring tone. “I got the spa trip for you to get over the stress of it all.” Eric chuckled. “ Thailand sounds nice, what part are you going to?” He asked curiously. “ I’ve always wanted to go to the Maldives. I went to fiji with my wife on our honeymoon, it was lovely.” His smile was sweet but sad.

“My flat is absolutely covered in them, I ran out of shelf space a long while ago.” She smiled a little before a blush took over her chest and face at the compliment. “Thank you” she ducked her head a little as she shook her head. “I don’t think you look boring at all. You look very handsome actually.” 

“ I know what you mean. I built a library into my house, because I have more books then furniture.” He laughed. “Oh.. I wouldn't say that. I think I look like a chaperone. Everyone here is all dressed up glamorous and I look a bit like a teacher.” He chuckled. “Maybe I should try and be more trendy.”

CHARACTER TASK - AU : TURN BACK TIME

King Eric of France ( The wolf King) 12th May 1484 – 22 August 1545

Eric Jean luc Charmant  was born into french royalty. He was trained to fight at early age and with the strength of his father and the beauty of his mother. King Eric was known to be one of the most powerful yet fairest rulers in french history

With German and English Kings as Allies, Eric would help in battle should they ever need him. He was happily married to Helene, a peasant girl from Bordeaux  who he met when she tended to his wounds during the battle of rebels of Normandy. He brought her back to Paris and they married on all Hallows eve and had seven children, 3 boys and 4 girls.  Life was beautiful for the handsome King and his dedicated family. 

But in the march of his fortieth year, Germany had requested his help to fight in Bohemia. Unbeknown to him, it was a ruse from Spain to get him out of Paris so they could overthrow his kingdom. Eric could tell something was wrong and headed home early to find his family slain and his castle burnt to ground. The shock turned his hair white and he was chased into the  forest of  Haute Vallée de Chevreuse by the Spaniards.

Thankfully, there was a chateaux who took him in after he fought for their freedom against some rebels. There he met Melody. She was a duchess and was good at cooking and fighting. He hid from her for a while, scared that she would be repulsed by his appearance but she eventually won him over. She wasn't scared of his  white hair and yellow eyes, in fact it intrigued her as she owned a pack of wolves she had reared since birth. She cooked for him and tended to any of his wounds, and in return he trained her even further in the art of war, by the end of the year they were inseparable and ready to win back Paris. 

They ambushed in the night and took back the city. Blood was spilt and Melody was battered and bruised but still by his side by the sunrise. So was her four wolves who had aided in the attack. Melody and Eric married soon after and the castle was rebuilt. A year later their first son Eric II was born with dark hair and blue eyes  followed by his sister Ebony also with dark hair and blue eyes.  The family stayed in Paris and twenty years later Eric passed away in his sleep with his wife beside him holding him close.

“That sounds like a great place for me, but not so much for you,” Lacey noted, laughing a little.  “I guess that depends on how badly you want the chicken nuggets!”  Lacey paused for a moment.  “I don’t know, I think people really just like to shit all over things teenage girls like.  Twilight is fine, I think parts of it are cute, and who doesn’t like a good vampire vs werewolf love triangle?”

“It was a nightmare. It was an old house we were using for a museum exhibition.” He rolled his eyes at  the memory. “I haven’t had chicken nuggets in a very long time.” Eric laughed. “ All I know is there is a vampire called Edward?” He asked and then nodded. “ And he is supposedly a little bit controlling but... I have never read the books or watched the movies so I have no idea if that’s true or if its a personal opinion from the girls in the office.”

Standing at a whopping five-foot-two, the blonde was used to people dwarfing her on a daily basis. Hell, even her own husband made her look extra-small, so it was no surprise when she had to look up at Eric, a bright smile appearing on her face at the sight of him. “Hey, Eric,” she said softly, her head cocking to the side almost shyly, her cheeks flush with delight from the sheer amount of happiness she felt. “Thank you so much for coming; you really didn’t need to get us anything, y’know? But Jaden’s best man insisted we put up a gift table, and it’s right near the cupcakes and cake.” She was beaming, glowing from the inside out. “Thank you. Everything came together better than I imagined.”

“And miss the wedding of the century. Never.” He chuckled. “ Meghan Markle is seething that your wedding was better then hers.” He said with a soft smile. “Oh its not much, just a weekend spa trip for you both at the four seasons.” He said waving the envelope. “ I’m not the best at giving gifts.” He admitted. “The cupcakes look lovely I may have to steal one. Are you off on your honeymoon tonight or wait for a few days?”

Angel chuckled softly at the other before nodding. “Hey, don’t worry about it. I get it. Trust me, I am not graceful on my feet either.” He admitted with a smile. “Not to mention there are so many people here, I keep thinking I will end up stepping on someone when I am dancing that it has resulted in me spending the least amount of time on the floor.” He admitted. “Sorry, I’m rambling. I do that when I get nervous. I’m Angel.”

Eric smiled greatfully. “ I know what you mean, I’m the same. Nice to meet you I’m Eric. Is that Angel or short for Angelo?” He asked curiously. “ I ramble when I’m nervous too or I switch off and don’t speak and just smile and shrug.” He chuckled. “ I’m not used to big events I work in a museum so its usually quiet.”

“You do?”  She hadn’t figured the man was that tall, but she also didn’t think she was that tiny, either.  “Um; it’s just one of those cheesy romance novels.  A little better than Twilight or After, but not as trashy as those ones with the half naked man with a woman draped across him.  I just like reading about people falling in love.  It’s nice.”

“Yeah, once there was a place that was so small I had to crouch the entire time I was there as the room was only five foot eight and I’m six foot something.” He admitted with a smile. “ I had a back ache for days.” He chuckled. “ Twilight...I have heard of that. Apparently having chicken nuggets is better love story then twilight, according to my intern.”
