Aine rolled her eyes and laughed softly, shaking her head as she leaned her cheek into her hand, elbow resting on the table. “That’s a mouthful of a first name. Unless you’re doing Muppet first name and Boy last name” She raised a brow. “I think it sounds like some weird sidekick. You’d have to be Muppet Man if you wanted to be taken a little more seriously.”

kasper had been in atlanta only a few months and , although he had moved here thanks to his best friend’s recommendations , he still found navigating the place rather difficult at times . it was ironic really given his hacker nature that he could delve deeply into binary code yet struggled to read a basic map , but with directions to the bookstore scribbled on a piece of paper he decided to take himself out and around the block in an attempt to find the place . his head of curls remained bowed ( he didn’t need anyone recognising him ) but no matter how hard he tried – and he tried goddamn hard – his footsteps continued running in circles , over and over again until he spotted a figure that seemed like they’d know where he was meant to be going . “ hey – “ he spoke , stopping aine in her tracks and not giving much of an option for her to help out , “ do you know where the bookstore is ?? i left all my conspiracy-based literature back in salem and i’m dying to read up on how the queen of england is a reptile , “

Aine had gotten into a routine in the few years that she had lived in Atlanta that left her able to head in the direction of her usual places without even really needing to look. If she tried, and if it wasn’t for cross walks, she could probably get to most places with her eyes closed. And after a meeting with her publisher about her book, she was doing just that as she made a beeline for the bookstore to take a look at any new arrivals. As she walked she tended to zone out, ignoring most people unless she knew them--at least until a man stopped her in her tracks causing her to squeak in surprise, her hand flying to her chest. “Jesus, Joseph and Mary you gave me a heart attack” she laughed a little before shaking her head. “Oh of course I was just headed there myself.” She motioned the direction she was walking. “I’ve heard that theory a few times”

“Nyah!” he stuck his tongue out at her with his half chewed cookie for a moment before he stuffed another one in his mouth.  “You’ve already burned me once today, Aine, a boy can’t be too careful when it comes to the highly coveted cookies.”

“You are vile!” She kicked at him under the table again before laughing and shaking her head. “I didn’t burn you, you’re the one who was trying to steal cookies from be before I even so generously offered them.” She rolled her eyes and sat back in her chair, pulling one knee to her chest, her foot resting on the edge of the chair. “Such a muppet.”

“Shit, that was a nasty fall. You alright?” Amara asked as she ran up to the stranger to check on him. When the guy cursed him out and told her he was fine, she rolled her eyes, fixed her leather jacket and walked off in a huff. “Well, fuck him too then.” She mumbled before going back to the other [YOUR MUSE]. “That guy was so rude. I don’t know why I offer to help people. They always so damn rude, you know?Like, what’s the fuckin’ point.”

Aine watched the whole scene unfold in front her, much like watching a trainwreck she couldn’t seem to look away from it. Raising a brow as the man seemed more agitated with someone checking on his wellbeing than the fall itself, she rolled her eyes a little. “Some people are just too proud to accept help when they need it. I guess he felt like he had to be all manly and tough”

“Why do confectionery geniuses feel the need to burn me like this? Honestly, if you’re gonna make a cupcake look this good and make me want to eat it, the least you can do is make it taste decent in the end. Or maybe I’m just asking for too much.” Beatrice let out a small chuckle, her brown eyes trained on Aine now that she was finished speaking. “No, you really don’t need to do that. If anything, I just like complaining sometimes, because then I feel like I’m no longer bottling my emotions up, even if it’s just about a dumb, overpriced cupcake.” The brunette’s lips tugged into a smile as she said this, her body falling back to lean against the chair. “I learned my lesson the hard way, I guess.”

“Reasons I always stick to classics, they can only do so much before they end up having to brand it a whole other thing” She smiled slightly before shaking her head. “I look at cupcakes like people they might look good on the outside but they’re disappointing on the inside” She laughed before making a face. “Now I realize it makes it sound like I’m eating people...bad comparison” She wrinkled her nose. “No please, have some. Because I know by the end of the week I’ll have gotten half a dozen for myself” She grinned. “Well you know now for future references

“I believe in you,” Corvi stated simply, though it was around a mouthful of cookies.  “You have withheld the cookies long enough i don’t trust you not to take them back without warning!”

“Well thank you but will you stop talking with your mouth full you’re going to choke!” she scolded him with a deep frown. “And I’m offended that you think I’d just take them back like that” she pouted slightly. “Here I was offering them to you out of the goodness of my heart”

“Not yet; but who’s to say.  You’re just getting started, you might be the next Raven Cycle chick.  But, you know, your own thing.”  He eagerly accepted the plate of cookies, shoving no less than two in his mouth.  “You just gotta get yourself out there.”

“Maybe...we’ll see, only time will tell if people actually like my book” She pointed out before waving a hand at him and frowning, “You’re gonna choke slow down” she furrowed her brows as she watched him shove more than one cookie into his mouth while speaking

“I don’t know - you’re the one with the writer brain,” Corvi pointed out.  “I bet somewhere down the line you’ll come up with a great catch phrase or something and get to trademark that and then people wont’ have a choice but to associate you to that cool thing, you know?”

“Well...that’s true” She laughed before rolling her eyes at him and pushing the plate of cookies in his direction. “Please I’m hardly someone who anyone associates anything cool with” She snorted softly.

“You can be both” She pointed out as she bit the cookie and sighed. “Well that’s sort of the last thing I need...I mean I’m not particularly popular but I don’t think I need people hating me” She wrinkled her nose. “Oh are there? Like what?” She leaned her elbows on the table

“You look lovely.” Eric said with a smile. “ And I appreciate the compliment, but I kinda feel old and boring.” Eric chuckled. “ Your hair and make up look  really nice and suit the dress well. Was it strange getting your make up done or was it like a pamper session?”

“Well I don’t think you’re either of those things” She smiled and sipped on her drink and looked around at everyone mingling and dancing before her attention moved to him again. “Thank you, that’s kind of you” She blushed a little deeper and ran her hand over the front of her dress a little. “It was strange, I’m not used to having people that close to my face” She laughed

“Why what are you gonna do, you’re a noodle!” She motioned to him with a laugh before shaking her head. “Well rise and shine is already used too much for them to do it.” She waved it off. “Plus who likes them, like in an honest sense I feel like they’re just used for meme’s at this point”

With the frosting of a fresh cupcake on the tip of her finger, Beatrice took a deep breath as she looked at it. It was colored light purple, stark white sugar crystals sprinkled throughout it and begging to be tasted. The only problem was, the smell of it wasn’t entirely appetizing, and her nerves were starting to get the best of her. After a moment of thought, though, she licked her finger clean of it, the taste bitter against her taste buds as she wrinkled her nose and looked at @littleorphanaine​. “It wasn’t as good as I wanted it to be,” she muttered, her whole body shaking with chills as she slid the cupcake away from her. “And now I’m sad.”

Aine watched the woman closely as she examined the icing on her finger before hesitantly, and reluctantly licking it off and making a face. “See that’s the thing about those types of decorated cupcakes...they look so pretty but they sacrifice the taste of them” She sighed dramatically. “That’s why I stick with the basics, chocolate, red velvet, and vanilla.” She smiled softly. “I’ll share mine with you if you’d like...I’ve had entirely too many sweets today as it is” She pushed the untouched vanilla cupcake towards her. “Honestly you’d be doing me a favor”

“Hey, hey! Don’t be kicking me!” she bumped his knee lightly. “I should trademark the saying while I can is what you’re telling me” She raised a brow and reached for another cookie. “Especially as an author”

“Well obviously, I don’t go around calling just anyone a muppet” She noted and smiled up at him before nodded slowly. “It is, but I don’t think the guy really deserved that sort of specificity...he was just annoying one of the other girls and my pissed self had no filter then”

“I appreciate you more than enough you fucking muppet” She shoved his shoulder lightly before making a face in return. “Well...that’s true, but in the moment I was horrified with myself. I couldn’t show my face in that pub for months, and then shortly after I ended up here so it didn’t matter anyways”

Everyone here is all dressed up glamorous and I look a bit like a teacher.” He chuckled. “Maybe I should try and be more trendy.”

“Oh that’s a lovely idea! I should’ve considered that...I work part time in a library as well so it’d be like bringing it home” she laughed softly and shook her head. “You do not! You look very handsome. You pull off the suit and tie look very well. I just keep feeling like I stick out like a sore thumb, I’m not used to being dressed up like this in any way” She motioned to herself. “I had to get my makeup done as I don’t wear it ever”
