RIP Lynn D “Buck” Compton 31 December 1921 - 26 February 2012 rest in peace.
Ok, more tears.
Amazing human being.
Sid Phillips, Buck Compton, Bradford Freeman, Bill Guarnere
Anyone planning on a BoB rewatch?
I don't know if I can. Watching it is already an emotional thing, but so soon after losing Buck...wouldn't be able to handle it.
Blood on the Risers: For Buck and every member of Easy Company who is no longer with us.
And he ain't gonna jump no more...
sweetfayetanner replied to your post: What a crappy Sunday this has turned out to be.
ugh Erica I have been thinking about this ever since I heard the news. I am so worried for Malark and Bill and Babe. I know they’re probably hurting right now.
I think....and I hate to say this, especially since I don't know how any of them are doing right now - they are probably accustomed to losing their men. Not that they are doing well, mind you. But they are getting up in years and it must not have been wholly unexpected. I think losing Winters was a difficult blow as well.
I feel awful. :(

What a crappy Sunday this has turned out to be.
I know Buck is now with all the other members of Easy, as well as his wife Donna. But I think of the members of Easy still on earth - Malark in particular, who really loved Buck - and I just hope they are okay and safe in the knowledge that Buck is in a better place.
“Second platoon was indeed ‘blessed’ to have Buck Compton as our leader. He was a quiet and strong officer who, above all, listened and talked to the men under his command. I could never say enough to express my thanks and admiration for Buck Compton.” - William ‘Wild Bill’ Guarnere
Rest in peace Lt. Lynn ‘Buck’ Compton, you were a true hero. You will be greatly missed.
Rest in peace, Buck.
Lynn D. “Buck” Compton (December 31, 1921—February 26, 2012)
Always loved you, Buck.
God bless you. Say hi to Skip and Winters and everyone for me.
Someone in class had fried chicken and white bread and now it's all I want.
Rami Malek is currently breaking my heart just by being at the breaking dawn premiere.
Why Rami why
If we must die, let it not be like hogs Hunted and penned in an inglorious spot, While round us bark the mad and hungry dogs, Making their mock at our accursed lot. If we must die, O let us nobly die So that our precious blood may not be shed In vain; then even the monsters we defy Shall be constrained to honor us though dead! O kinsmen! We must meet the common foe! Though far outnumbered let us show us brave, And for their thousand blows deal one death blow! What though before us lies the open grave? Like men we’ll face the murderous, cowardly pack, Pressed to the wall, dying, but fighting back!
- Claude McKay, "If We Must Die"
