Saver - Eric Draven x female reader (18+)
Trouble
The sound of her heels echoed through the school corridors; she walked briskly to get to the classroom as quickly as possible. Lessons had already started, but she hadn’t managed to arrive on time.
She pushed open the classroom door and entered with her head down. “Sorry I’m late.” Eric’s voice reached her ears, but she didn’t dare look up. “No problem, Miss Tucker, please take a seat.” She quickly scanned the classroom and spotted a seat in the penultimate row; she sat down, took out her things, and then plucked up the courage to look at him.
Eric never ceased to amaze her; he was breathtakingly handsome. The top button of his shirt was undone, offering a glimpse of the black ink staining his skin. The way he occasionally ran a hand through his hair to smooth it down accentuated the veins on his forearms.
“Have you seen his tattoos?” Eve’s ears picked up on the conversation taking place behind her.
“Absolutely. I can’t stop wondering where else he might have them,” the other girl replied, and Eve couldn’t help but smile, because she was glad she wasn’t the only one having such thoughts.
"Quiet, please" Eric’s voice cut short the conversation, and then his eyes met Eve’s; she held his gaze for as long as she could, his eyes were magnetic; without even realising it, she crossed her legs under the desk, and Eric, thanks to the classroom layout, noticed her movement and let a small smile play on his lips for a few seconds, before resuming the lesson as if nothing had happened.
Once the lesson was over, Eve gathered her things and headed for the classroom door to leave.
“Miss Tucker, please stay behind.” She froze, rolled her eyes, then turned and walked over to his desk. “Yes, Mr Draven?” He watched the last students leave the classroom, then sighed and leaned back in his chair.
“I need another favour. I’ve got a meeting with the lawyer tonight to secure sole custody of Olivia, but I’ve got no one to leave her with.” She smiled. “I can look after her, don’t worry.” He nodded and thanked her. “I was thinking… I have to take Olivia to the gym this afternoon. Are you training today?” She nodded. “Then could you come home with us once you’re finished?” She was taken aback by the question and thought about it for a few seconds before agreeing.
She left the classroom with her heart pounding; her only thought was of the evening that was about to begin.
Later, whilst she was training, she couldn’t concentrate; her head was a whirlwind of thoughts. Fortunately, her father wasn’t there that day, otherwise it would have been a disaster.
When her training session ended, she rushed to the changing rooms, washed quickly, dried her hair and put on a bit of make-up to look her best.
When she came out of the changing room, Eric and Olivia weren’t there yet, but after a few minutes they emerged from the other changing room. Eve smiled at the little girl who ran towards her, took her hand and led her towards her father’s car.
Eric looked at them and something stirred inside him; he knew full well it was risky. Eveleen was six years younger than him and was one of his students, which put his job at risk. Yet he couldn’t ignore that feeling when he saw her with his daughter.
Once they got home, Eric said goodbye and left.
The two of them spent the evening playing and laughing; they had dinner, and then Eve put Olivia to bed, telling her a beautiful fairy tale about a princess until the little girl fell fast asleep, clutching her stuffed rabbit.
On her way to the living room, Eve stopped to look at the large bookcase; she ran her fingers along the books until she came across a title on philosophy, sat down on the sofa and began to read.
The hours passed and she had fallen asleep with the book on her lap; the warmth of that house made her feel so comfortable that she kept drifting off to sleep.
Eric slipped quietly into the house; it was late, and he hadn’t expected it to take them so long. He took off his coat and made his way down the hall to the living room, where he saw her. He couldn’t help but smile; he picked up the book from her lap to put it away.
He sat down beside her and watched her for a few seconds before gently stroking her cheek to wake her; she opened her eyes with a start, sitting up straight before looking at him.
“Shit, sorry, I’ve done it again.” She rubbed her eyes, trying to wake up properly.
Eric shook his head, smiling—something he seemed unable to stop doing when she was around. “Don’t worry.” She stood up. “Right, I’d better go.” Eric stood up and walked her to the door. “Thanks for looking after her again. Olivia adores you.” “It’s no trouble—it’s a pleasure.”
They both stood in silence for a few seconds, then Eric, unable to fully control his body, brought his hands to her face and leaned in, their lips meeting.
Eve froze; a thousand thoughts were racing through her mind, but when she felt Eric start to pull away because she hadn’t returned the kiss, she didn’t think twice: she slipped a hand behind his neck and returned his kiss.
His lips were soft, tasting of cigarettes and mint at the same time; Eric’s hands moved from her cheeks to her waist, and she also brought her other hand around his neck to deepen the kiss.
Both were intoxicated by the taste of each other.
In Eve’s chest, however, there was a weight she couldn’t ignore; all of this was wrong. She reluctantly pulled away from his lips, breathing heavily from the lack of oxygen. Eric took his hands off her waist and ran a hand through his hair. “I’m sorry.” Eve shook her head. “I’m the one who’s sorry—I let myself get carried away.” Neither of them said anything for a few seconds. It was Eve who spoke. “It shouldn’t have happened.” Eric looked at her hesitantly and nodded. “Yes, perhaps it’s best we forget about it.” She agreed. “Goodnight.” Without waiting for a reply, she turned and began to walk away, her heart pounding hard in her chest.
The silence of her home only made her situation worse; her heart felt as though it might burst, and she kept fidgeting nervously with her fingers. She tossed and turned in bed, trying to get some sleep with little success. What had happened was completely wrong; it should never have happened. But, God, how she couldn’t stop thinking about the taste of his lips, so soft—
She closed her eyes, hoping to fall asleep, whilst the memories wouldn’t leave her in peace.
The next day, in the corridors, she did her best to hide among the other students; during philosophy class, she sat at the back, without looking at him, scribbling in her notebook with whatever silly little drawings came to mind.
Once the lesson was over, she hurried out of the classroom to take a break before the next lesson; she went round to the back of the school, where she knew there would be no one.
She pulled a packet of cigarettes out of her bag; she wasn’t in the habit of smoking—in fact, she found the smell quite revolting—but every now and then she felt it was the only thing that could calm her nerves.
With trembling fingers, she lit one and took a deep drag.
“They say smoking kills, you know?”
