The greeks believed that the moon rose at night thanks to Selene, goddess of the moon, and her carriage of horses. One day on her job she saw a man (Endymion) sleeping among his sheep, and feel in love with him in an instant. Without missing a beat she pleaded Zeus to give him immortality and he did. The Titan goddess Leto went to great lengths to give birth to her children, Apollo and Artemis. Zeus was the father, and as with many Greek myths Hera was enraged by this. She chased Leto night and day preventing her any rest until Leto took refuge in the floating island of Delos. Later after she would be able to give birth to her children. In the war against Zeus, Atlas rose as the leader of the opposing side, the Titans. When he lost the war Zeus saved a special type of torture for him. He would have to carry the heavens in his shoulders for the rest of his life. Mankind was created by Prometheus, god of forethought. His foresight abilities gave him great clarity and a wiseness many would envy. With his abilities he saw that mankind would not be happy with just it's existence. They needed something that would ignite their life and Prometheus saw what it was and it was fire which the gods believed sacred.
