alternia is ruled by The Demoness (the handmaid), and sheâs partly a puppet ruler for lord english, but she very much still rules under her own terms and conditions. she was driven half to madness under his control however, and is sort of like the queen of hearts from Alice and wonderland. unlike the condesce, she does hold a bit of fondness for her descendant, aradia, but doesnât know how to care for her properly. sheâs sort of like a crazy aunt to aradia, and does visit her from time to time even though it never ends well. aradia herself loves exploring abandoned ships and shipwrecks, but also goes to the surface to flarp occasionally.
tavros is an outlier among his caste. heâs very clumsy and not as strong as the other violets, and on top of that, heâs too afraid of the glybâgolyb to go in the ocean. he canât even cull lusii because he feels too bad for them. an accident while flarping left him without the use of his legs, and while he does have fancy golden brace/automatons that help him walk, he has incredibly low self-esteem. to prevent himself from getting culled, he puts on a fake overconfident persona, which fools next to no one. a certain oliveblood takes time out of her day to torment him for his cowardice which only makes him feel worse about himself.
sollux is part of a cult run by his ancestor, the imperial helmsman. i donât really have that much else to say about him cause i havenât given him much thought im ngl đ
karkat is the descendant of a famous scholar who went on the run to fight against the demonessâ insane rule. The Betrayer, as he was called, put up a valiant fight, along with his lover, The Huntress. Eventually, The Betrayer was killed, and all forms of rebellion died for a while, until Rebeller duelscar came along. Karkat isnât proud of his signs history of radical anti-hemoism and actively complains about it in his free time. despite all his complaints, he is still quite a knowledgeable leader, despite the fact heâs a bit of a know-it-all.
the huntress was an infamous mafia boss who never followed the empires rules and seemed to work on her own logic. she had many doctrines and radical ideas of her own, although most were focused on romance and the role of reproduction in their society. when The Betrayer died, she faked her own death and lived in the shadows, secretly working with The Deceiver. The Huntressâ descendant is the adorable yet ferocious nepeta leijon, who has a tendency to âaccidentallyâ start many brutal and bloody literal shipping wars. sheâs relatively notorious on the internet, and if amorousCattalion decides to align herself against you in a shipping war, youâd better start praying for your life. youâre going to need it.
i donât really have much planned out for kanaya or terezi yet but just know their ancestors are neophyte mourness (who killed the betrayer) and the deceiver (mentioned previously)
now, itâs time for the most controversial of our main cast⊠vriska serket!!!! sheâs convinced that sheâs destined for something greater than being a run of the mill oliveblood. she picks every four leaf clover she finds, gathers dice by the hundreds, and is one of the most superstitious people youâll ever meet. she believes that she was born with divine luck passed down from her ancestor, (who doesnât have a name yet), and strives to be just like her someday, pulling off insane stunts and tricks while being the empires former top military officers.
i got nothing really for gamzee and Equius yet except for the fact that Equiusâ ancestor was an illegal weapons dealer for many different rebellions

feferi is the resident burgundyblood, and despite her role at the bottom of the hemospectrum, she believes that change can be one day achieved, and everyone CAN be equal! her views for peaceful takeover arenât very realistic however, and oppression canât be fixed with warm hugs and cookies overnight. trolls will have to die ultimately, and that is a reality she isnât willing to accept under any circumstances. she can be quite forceful in her plans however, and can be mildly scary if anyone disagrees with her. despite this, her moirail eridan has tried to talk her out of her plans and go the route of extreme unrelenting violence, which has led to a great rift between the twoâŠ
anyways thatâs all I have so far! i have a tiny bit more about rebeller duelscar but im wayyy too tired to type it out rn đ
Eridan ampora was lonely yet vengeful boy who grew up on Alternia. As a bronzeblood, he was taught about his inferiority to the higher castes for his entire life. He went about his life as usual, but anger stirred inside him at the injustice of it all. He wanted power. He wanted to rule. And that hunger for power was amplified even more when he discovered the long-lost belongings of his ancestor: Rebeller Duelscar. Eridans hatred for the higher castes only doubled as time went on, and using Duelscars rebellion plans (as well as some supposed doomsday technology from a certain oliveblood) he developed a grand plan to exterminate all highbloods forever. And despite his adamantness that kill or be killed was how everything worked on Alternia, a part of him couldnât help but ache for a miracle, for a life where he could be whatever he wanted without the threat of death looming over him constantly. Maybe he could even become a wizard. But everyone knows magic is fakey fake dumb stupid wiggler bullshit, and hopes are only for highbloods.Â
