By @becauseofthem via @RepostWhiz app: As a child, South Carolina teacher, Raymond Nelson, joined a group that taught him valuable life lessons that he would one day pass on to the next generation. That day came after winter break at Memminger Elementary, where Nelson established “The Gentleman’s Club”. Every Wednesday, the halls become filled with almost 60 students dressed for success and ready to learn new life lessons such as, how to make eye contact or shake someone’s hands. Nelson also provides students who do not have dress up clothes of their own, with ties, vests, and jackets, so they too can participate. The club, whose motto is “Look good, feel good, do good”, has gone on to influence other schools in Charleston County School District to implement a Gentleman’s program. Great work, Mr. Nelson! And thank you for using your position of power to inspire the future. #happyblackhistorymonth #becauseofthemwecan (#RepostWhiz app)
