The Philadelphia Eagles have traded linebacker Kiko Alonso and cornerback Byron Maxwell to the Miami Dolphins for draft compensation, a league source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Maxwell, 28, signed with the Eagles for a six-year, $63 million contract last season, but struggled in his lone season. Byron would only record two interceptions and 64 tackles, while Alonso arrived in Philly last year via trade for running back LeSean McCoy. Alonso, 25, would also struggle, as he recorded a career-low 43 tackles and 1 INT in 11 games last season. The Dolphins, who ranked 25th last year in total defense, can benefit by both players’ additions.
