“Hey, no…” Cole interjected, raising her hand up a little as she sent a semi-serious glare in her friend’s way. “There’s no way that I am going anywhere without my helmet on, you don’t really have to worry about that one.” Despite looking like she had a death wish, Cole still didn’t want to disappear just like that. There were two things she still had to fulfill – finally figuring herself out and being the best older sister in the entire world. Frankly, those were also the only reasons she never wanted to leave Seattle, as much as her desire to run away whenever any sort of problem came her way was forcing her to do so.
“— the… the youngest I could ever go for would have to be twenty-eight, and that’s not even that big of an age gap, so…” she trailed off, making a some kind of face. Either way, dating anyone wasn’t a priority at the moment – this could wait. Potentially for a long, long time. “I was a theatre kid, actually. – I’ve never told anyone about that, so you can feel special now.” Cole admitted. While she was aware that Erin was joking around, she couldn’t help but mention such thing. It was one of the best things that kept her sane during all her school career. There was just something intriguing about the fact that pretending to be someone else; it was basically just another outlet, a thing that gave her the opportunity to focus on something other than her studies. “Between you and Lenny, I think I’ve got it covered – thank you, I’ll try my best to force myself to like tea again.”
“I’m just saying, I wouldn’t do that accent again without practicing a bit beforehand,” she said with an innocent smile, amused by her friend’s glare. “I don’t worry, Cole. I merely expressed concern over a very common mistake made by people who ride motorcycle.” Concern and worry were pretty similar, but admitting to doing something friendly wasn’t in the cards for Erin. For some reason, emotions made her feel weak and vulnerable. Probably an unhealthy way to handle feelings, but it was unlikely she was going to change anytime soon.
“Seriously, that’s the youngest? If I were your age, I think I could go down to, like, twenty-five. I feel like wenty-five years olds and over are mature enough to date. Plus, they have good stamina,” she told her with a confident nod, as if she knew what she was talking about. She wasn’t that into dating either, so really she had no idea, but twenty-five felt like a good age. “A theater kid? As in you were up on a stage, singing and dancing?” Erin asked, trying to hold back her amusement. “I feel really special. Would you hate me if I started laughing right now? Because I’m trying really hard to hold it back and it’s getting physically painful.” It was hard to believe Lennox and Cole were even related, the two of them were so different. At least the knowledge that someone else was looking out for her was doing a good job at easing her mind a bit. “Tea is amazing, you shouldn’t have to force anything.”
