After years of tremendous funding and effort, all investigative threads had dried up—except for one: Alice Wake, the bereaved widow who had experienced the horrors of the Dark Place herself. Agent Kiran Estevez, the recently appointed lead investigator on the case, was determined to bring her story to light.
At long last, my case for Kiran Estevez and Alice Wake as a pairing has arrived. Two women deeply involved in the Bright Falls case working together to study and contain the paranatural.
I've wanted to explore this concept for a long, long time. This pairing also bridges my love for the universes of Control and Alan Wake. Kiran became one of my favorite characters the moment she was introduced in Alan Wake 2, and Alice's character evolved so much from her depiction in the first game. There were broad strokes of lore with these characters begging to be explored and connected on a deeper level. I believe both of these characters have much to offer one another.
This story was created thanks to the generosity of @pintsizeninja and @eroticnebula for @fandomtrumpshate 2025. The book cover for this story was created by the talented @rangerzath. Thank you so much to everyone involved for making this vision come to life! 💖
