But he looked at me, this bloke who couldn't even commit to his job long enough to get a promotion, and– I still dunno what he saw. Still dunno how he saw anything.” It echoes in Yaz, rings with terrible familiarity. Like she should be up in the stars, and I'd be down here, just watching. She crushes the thought, buries it down low. This isn't like her and Theo, can't be like her and Theo. Or Yaz and Theo part ways with Dan, encounter a couple on the road, and finally reach their destination.
In which Theoyaz meet Jake and Adam and recognise themselves a little too much, reach the facility, and get surprised twice over.

“Just sleep, bighead. You don't have to fight all the time.” Small, then, almost teary: “Think I do.” Yaz reaches out. Strokes sweaty hair off her forehead and feels her soften at the touch. “Not with me here, Theo. Promise.” The smallest smile twitches at the corners of Theo's mouth. “Thanks, Yaz.” And then, smaller, half-whispered: “I like you, Yaz. Might even–” Or When Theo gets sick on the road, she and Yaz take shelter in a house that's not as empty as they think, and try to stop themselves from feeling.
In which Theo is sick and very stubborn, Yaz is gay and in denial, and our icon Dan Lewis makes an appearance and is baffled by their nonsense.
