It was monstrous how they treated him, bordering the line of damn near sadistic if that thin line hadn't already been stepped over in actions that she hadn't witnessed. But what was being seen now? Debilirated, down right exhausted, it was honestly a surprising he even had enough steam left in him to get from place to place. Through all of his mistreatment, he was still docile. Even if the captain had a hand in the reasoning behind him keeping to himself, one had to admire him for it, one person can only take so much abuse and this poor guy had been sent over and over through the wringer.

She couldn't blame him for his unease, with how their peers treated him he probably thought she would be following suit in their barbaric actions. Not a muscle went moved until he started reaching for the wooden utensil between them. She kept her movements plodding so not to startle him, or to keep his mind from thinking the worst to come as her hand moved across the tabletop, the only finger making any sort of explicit movement being her pinky, using it only to carefully inch the spoon closer to him.

Through this whole exchange so far, she'd kept the eye contact between them unbroken, at least until she withdrew her hand back into her own personal space. That friendly gaze fell just as fast as it had appeared, a cold and unforgiving stare taking its place. However, it was nowhere near directed at him, it was to the rest of the room. To the onlookers who had taken a fascination in this unexpected turn of events. The look on her face was threatening to say the least, almost daring anyone to attempt to make a move in his direction. Thankfully, so far, there didn't seem to be any takers. Perhaps they were more interested to see how this was going to fully play out?

A moment of watching from side to side, his head never moving yet his eyes shifted in his head, inventive vision focused on those nearby that would be more likely to vault over the wooden tables in protest of her actions.

All they seemed to do was scoff and turn away, nothing but cowards, all bark and no bite most times. However, they had thrown their fair share of fists in the barracks, so he usually spent his time sleeping in more obscure places or anywhere vacant he could sneak into, more so recently, the captain's quarters.

Both hands came up to slide the bowl closer, he seemed to have no interest in the wooden spoon, too hungry to really bother with table manners, clasped between two hands it was lifted to his chin and slurped down like a thirsty dog going at water until not a single drop of it was left, wiping the dribble from a stubbly lip.
