If you’ve been following me on social media, you know I’m evaluating the book cover of The Mist Keeper’s Apprentice. I love my cover. I won’t be changing the artwork.

But, I am evaluating how it appears when someone sees it on websites like Amazon, Goodreads, etc. 

While I’ve been posting plenty on IG, Twitter, and Tiktok, the answers have been variable.

my current project is Dragonsong, about a knight who chooses to rescue a baby dragon but has to quit her job. eventually, she learns that there’s more to dragons and magic and society than she ever knew, and sets out to make things right as best she can.

I’m having lots of fun with it! it features several badass ladies with swords, an illegal magic subplot, a BABY DRAGON (and a couple other dragons), and some themes I’m really enjoying. I also really love my main character and things are coming together quickly. I’m so excited.

my current project is prep for the book fair i'm hosting and also Blue Moon Motel! it follows Eric, who's convinced his next door neighbor at the motel is a serial killer. he's not too far off...Marlowe is a vampire in a tight spot, looking for some help. it's tropey and a dark comedy and im really enjoying it so far. how have you been?

Oh that sounds like a ton of fun! Definitely down for a dark comedy! Also the book fair looks awesome from what I’ve seen! I’ve been busy: I’m launching a short story in April, prepping my sequel, and working on other projects...while balancing work, wedding planning, and general life stuff. Chaotic, you know? haha

Okay, guys! We’re starting sign-up’s for the Writeblr Book Fair now, so there’s plenty of time for it to circulate before the event in May. If you know a writeblr with a book published, consider letting them know about this event! It’s basically a big promotional occasion for writeblrs, and a way for people to find easy access to purchasing books - a Book Fair, but virtual!

Storytelling was outlawed. Magic had all but vanished.

That all changed when the woman in black came to town.

 Branded with the black stamp at a young age, Brent thought he would end up a vagrant like his father. His craft was telling stories, but the Order had long forbidden any weaving of tales. When Brent sees the woman in black, she leads him into a menagerie of tunnels beneath the earth where his life falls into the nauseating, but beautiful, mist of the dead.

He finds friendship in Rho, a young woman who hides her face with a tree branch while roots and vines bow to her every whim. Together, they embark on a journey to explore the world, escape the watchful eyes of the Order, and discover the woman in black’s secrets.

For thousands of years, the mist and the tunnels were under the sole guardianship of the Council of Mist Keepers. But as new monsters enter the mist, and magic is forced out of the shadows, the Council searches for young blood to join their ranks and Brent’s next in line.

Content Warnings

This book approaches issues of sexism, prejudice, and mental illness, and includes mentions of death, violence/sexual assault, adult language, alcohol use, and psychological abuse/trauma.
