ABOUT GASTON

so gaston grew up on a farm in the east of woodvale. his parents instilled in him a solid work ethic and always, always made sure he remembered their importance within woodvale’s community. without them, who would feed the people (dont talk about the leidholdt farm and the port shh)

gaston took this sense of importance and has carried it with him for the rest of his life. he’s basically that guy who thinks he knows everything when he actually knows very, very little. he thinks his own opinions are fine substitutions for actual facts (i hate him ????)

growing up, spent most of his time outdoors - hunting was his favorite pastime (the first time he shot a deer, his dad skinned it and hung its antlers above the fireplace he was so proud)

he owns and operates the farm now (his parents moved to a lil cottage in the south)

thinks he’s the most handsome motherfucker in the world and so he thinks everyone wants himasldkjfhasdlkjfhalskfj (has had 0 successful relationships however)

for some reason, there’s a good amount of people who like him ??? 

he tends to use the flaws/oddities of others to raise himself up

ran for town council 1) he thought he had some good ideas 2) liked the idea of being ~in power~

uses his position on the town council as leverage/to impress people

and i, cannnot stress this enough, hate him

          “  i  am  -  which  is  why  i  asked.  ”  anna  was  used  to  this  with  her  neighbor  -  always  a  grumpy-gus.

“Well, I haven’t been here too terribly long, but so far so good!” He smiled brightly. “Although, I haven’t seen too many people with pets. More people should have pets! Then again, can’t really change that in the whole town, can you?” He began rambling like usual. “Maybe I should just adopt a cat.. or a rabbit? I don’t know.” He furrowed his brows, thinking. “Oh uh, anyways! What do you think? Is there something in particular you’re wanting to change? Also, do you have any pets?”

          “  i  think  that’s  a  great  idea!  maybe  we  could  do  a  fundraiser  or  something  like  that  for  the  shelter!  that  way  more  animals  would  have  a  chance  at  being  adopted!  i  know  someone  who  works  there  -  i’m  sure  he’d  help  out  if  we  asked  really  nicely! ” really  really  nicely.  “  who  says  you  couldn’t  adopt  both?  as  long  as  they  get  along,  right?  ”  anna  tapped  her  pen  to  her  chin,  assuming  a  ‘thinking’  pose,  “  there  are  so  many  things,  but  i’m  really  enjoying  hearing  what  other  people  have  to  say!  i  don’t  have  a  pet,  unfortunately.  i’m  working  on  warming  up  my  sister  to  the  idea  though!  ”

         ‘  yes  …  between  you  and  i ?  my  brother  is  just  there  to  look  pretty  .   he  doesn’t  do  much  of  it  at  all  .   it  is  all  me  .  ’    which  is  something  her  father  is  trying  to  ruin  for  her  .   and  lisa  loves  her  brother  ,   she  does !  but  he  also  seems  to  have  zero  thoughts  behind  those  eyes  .   that  being  said  ,   he’s  probably  the  only  family  member  keeping  her  sane  in  the  whole  family  .    ‘  we  can  find  the  shoots  that  work  better  for  you  .   if  you  do  not  mind  -  what  is  your  schedule  like ?  ’  

          for  the  first  time,  ella  looked  at  the  business  card:  bianchi  talent  agency  &  brand.  “  wait ... is  your  brother  henry  bianchi?  ”  she  knew  him  -  better  than  she  wished  at  this  point.  “  i  don’t  know ... if  he’s  involved,  i’m  not  sure  i  would  be  the  best  person  to  join  your  company.  anyways,  my  schedule’s  ridiculous.  i  usually  work  from  eight  to  four  at  the  orphanage  and  then  i’m  at  tiana’s  from  six  to  close.  ”  not  to  mention  all  the  extra  things  for  stepmonster.  “  it’s  hard  to  find  an  opening.  ”

PHILIP’S MAKING HIS WAY OVER TO BERRIES & BURGERS for some takeout before heading back to his place. He’s had a long week, and he’s looking forward to get some good sleep. He doesn’t see where he’s going, eyes too busy looking down at his phone, and ends up bumping into someone, automatically and unconsciously reaching forward to support whoever it is. “I’m sorry I wasn’t—,” he starts to say before looking to see who it is, smiling. “Ella, hey. Apologies. I should stop looking at my phone while I’m walking.” He raises his phone, shrugging lightly before his brows furrow slightly. He mostly knows Ella through his mom, who have done some philanthropy in the shelter where the brunette works. “Are you okay?”

          dry  cleaning?  check.  car  wash?  check.  three  double  burgers  with  strawberry  shakes?  check.  ella  ran  through  the  list  in  her  head,  making  sure  she  got  through  everything  before  heading  back  home.  the  last  thing  she  wanted  was  for  step-momster  to  rage  because  she  forgot  one  tiny  detail.  in  her  task-absorbed  thinking,  ella  didn’t  see  the  man  gliding  on  her  same  path  and  plop!  went  the  milkshakes,  spilling  onto  the  ground  -  and  the  man’s  shoes.  “  oh  my  god,  i’m  so  sorry  -  philip!  ”  of  course,  of  course,  it  was  philip  demir  who  ella  just  spilled  bright  pink  milkshakes  on.  “  i  am  -  i’m  fine ... it’s  just  -  your  shoes!  i  bet  there’re  some  napkins  in  here,  hold  on ...  ”  flustered,  she  ransacked  the  burger  bag  and  pulled  out  a  wad  of  napkins,  kneeling  to clean  up  her  mess  and  maybe  save  his  shoes.

meldoy  wasn’t  excited  ,  but  the  more  and  more  anna  went  on  the  more  she  was  excited  .  though  they  weren’t  sure  how  they  could  do  a  buddy  program  ,  that  seemed  a  little  out  of  reach  .  but  the  community  dance  sounded  amazing  ,  melody  could  imagine  her  and  a  girl  dancing  .  .  .  the  though  alone  brought  a  smile  to  her  face  .  “  the  first  dance  could  happen  at  the  beach  ,  ”  melody  said  ,  hoping  that  would  actually  happen  .

     “  oh  my  goodness!  the  BEACH!  that’s  probably  one  of  the  best  ideas i’ve  ever  heard!  how  romantic!  ”  her  smile  pushed  to  the  edge  of  her  cheeks.  “  also  a  great  idea  because  we’d  be  using  the  town’s  natural  beauty  as  decoration!  that’d  cut  costs  by ... a lot!  ”  she  could  see  it  now  -  dance  floor  on  the  sand,  sun  setting  as  the  beat  drops.  “  would  you  help  me?  make  it  happen?  we’d  probably  need  to  get  permission  from  the  town  council  and  all  that,  so  who  can  say  if  it’ll  actually  happen,  BUT  if  we  do  get  permission  -  will  you  help?  ”

“ perhaps more funding for the library? ” caden mutters under their breath before putting a smile on. “ i think some more native flowers would be nice. especially in the areas where it’s just grass. would make things more lively i think. ”

          “ perfect!  do  you  know  what’s  native  to  woodvale?  i  guess  i  could  always  go  to  the  florist.  surely,  someone  there  would  know!  but  anyways,  that’s  an  awesome  idea!  we  could  definitely  use  some  more  color  around  -  there  can  never  be  enough! ”  smiling,  anna  wrote  caden’s  idea  down  in  her  notebook.  “  what  was  that  first  thing  you  said?  i  didn’t  catch  it. ”

“a roller coaster could be a lot of fun,” he replies with a laugh. the person standing in front of him has a lot of energy, rambling from topic to topic without a care in the world. it’s awfully endearing, though he’s not the one to embarrass her by saying it aloud. “i’ve been on a couple. they’re a lot of fun- you should definitely try one when you have the chance. how do you feel about heights?”

          “  hmmmmm,  i  try  to  stay  away  from  them  as  a  rule,  ”  ever  since  her  fall  when  she  was  a  kid,  anna  was  heavily  discouraged  from  exploring  anything  higher  than  five  feet.  “  but  it’s  safe,  right?  like  they  strap  you  in  and  all  that?  what  about  your  stuff  -  what  happens  if  your  wallet  falls  out?  or  maybe  i  guess  if  you  have  pockets,  you  could  use  those ... ”

“   i   haven’t   really   thought   about   it   ,   ”   melody   said   ,   biting   their   lip   trying   to   rack   their   brain   .   “   what   did   you   say   would   make   this   place   better   ?   ”

          “  oh,  lots  of  things!  i  had  this  idea  for  a  buddy  program  for  newcomers  -  just  a  kind  of  thing  where  people  can  have  a  friend  when  they  move  to  town,  show  them  around,  that  kind  of  thing!  oh!  and  then  there  was  this  other  idea  i  had  -  community  dances!  it  could  be  a  way  to  bring  people  together!  ”  anna  looked  up  at  the  ceiling,  as  if  the  rest  of  her  ideas  would  be  up  there,  “  there  were  definitely  more...  ”

“I DO NOT. TRAGIC, I KNOW. SO YOU HAVE TO SPEND TIME WITH ME,” Ela jokes, a playful glint in her eyes. She knows his words are in jest and frankly, that’s one of the fun things in their friendship. He seems to give in and do whatever she wants. Maybe because she’s pretty insistent otherwise, so he knows better. “You guess? I know you’re, like, super excited for my company, deep down.” Honestly, he’s so easy to tease most of the time. “If I don’t talk the whole time, I’ll cease to exist. Besides, I’ve been more or less quiet the entire time at work today. I had my head buried in numerous articles, so I have all this pent up energy ready to be let out.”

          he  rolled  his  eyes.  “  that’s  something  you  might  wanna  work  on.  ”  they  both  knew  it  wasn’t  true.  ela  was  one  of  the  friendliest  people  hunter  knew.  it  was impossible  that  he  was  her  only  friend  -  it  just  was.  huh,  he  hadn’t  really  thought  of  himself  as  her  “friend”  before,  but  he  kinda  was. weird.  “  ah,  yes.  i  am  leaping  for  joy.  in  my  head.  of  course.  ”  hunter  just  let  ela  roll  on  and  waited  for  her  to  take  a  breath.  “  you done...?  ”

athena feels absolutely honored at the behavior she just witnessed, and she can’t help but grin and shoo the shitty north-sider away from her now hero. “listen, that was absolutely amazing. you said just about everything i’ve been dying to say for the past ten minutes.” she grins, “so whatever you want within… twenty bucks? on me.”

          “  hey,  i  get  it.  you  couldn’t  cause  you’re  working,  but  i  bet  you  would’ve  sent  his  ass  if  you  weren’t.  ”  she  struck  robin  as  someone  who  didn’t  need  saving.  “  well,  if  you  absolutely  insist,  ”  normally,  robin  didn’t  like  to  take  from  people  who  weren’t  the  richie  riches,  but  if  someone  was  offering  a  gift,  it  was  good  to  accept  it.  “  when  does  your  shift  end?  cause  i’d  much  rather  eat  with  you.  ”

          “  it  really  is.  do  you  remember  the  quiet  game?  did  you  ever  play  that  in  school?  i  lost  every time!  ”  by  this  point,  anna  knew  some  people  were  annoyed  by  her  cheerful  demeanor,  but  lucky  for  her,  she  didn’t  care  -  that  much.  in  the  end,  she  believed  she  could  endear  herself  to  anyone  once  they  gave  her  a  chance.  “  that’s  actually  why  i’m  doing  it.  it’s  not  an  official  survey,  but  i’m  planning  on  taking  my  findings  to  the  town  council  so  maybe  they’ll  consider  changing  some  things  up!  ”
