Seems like a good day to share my Loki
Next WIP coming along now. Everyone loves a P-40 right?
Warcraft time!
I've been working on this repaint a lot lately. I'm where I want to be with the sky, just the ocean and aircraft to finish now
My face is pretty much the start of my Loki Cosplay...
I'm tempted to draw some Koltira Deathweaver fanart; a portrait - stealing Henry Cavills face but.... changing it a bit. đ¤ All in really dark, soft pencil, with chalk highlights. Hmm.
Well the Whitley painting is progressing nicely. I'm hoping to have this finished mid February and then I can get started on the next lot of P-40s
Next! 'Scouting the Coast' acrylic on canvas 30 x 24 inch.
Thanks for the acrylic tips, those are really helpful!!
More than welcome, I'm glad they helped!
I love your paintings! Do you have any advice for new artists on how to use better acrylics?
Hi! Thank you đ I would say don't be afraid to experiment with colours. Using an underpainting works really well, so if it's set at sunset I'd underpaint the anything the light hits in a burnt sienna so any small gaps in the paint let's the orange tint shine through for example. Acrylics are very versatile in that they can be used in a similar way to both watercolour and oils. What I've found helps just lately is to paint the main blocks of colour quite thickly, like an oil, then water down the paint and use a lot of glazing techniques rather than mixing different shades of certain colours, if that makes sense. One piece of advice I was given, was never use black straight from the tube, always mix it slightly with another colour, otherwise it can look flat and draw the eye away from other things. Hope some of this is helpful. I would be a really rubbish art teacher!!
And finished! 'The Clean-up Crew' Acrylic on Canvas 24 X 30 inch. This was 211 hours work. The bare metal was a real challenge but I'm pleased with the outcome.
Shiny metal is shiny. Really getting stuck in with the P-38

Too Many Pillows!
Hard to choose between âGarden Troublesâ and âDrawing Room Anguishâ đđđ
Theres a lot to choose from here but iâve got to go with the best one; âThe Unpleasantnessâ
âSherry served too coldâ. Iâll make an effort to make sure my shit is hot enough, just to avoid killing any of yâall. đ
Only a couple of hours left on this landscape now...
Aaah palm trees, the bane of my existence...
143 hours in so far and the landscape is about 99% complete
Each palm tree has 7 layers of colour. Hard work this one
