"trust me, it does. exposing more tit makes me look older." she turned to him and shrugged. "how do i look?"

esme smiled, "thanks." she stared at herself in the mirror for a few more seconds before turning to shade with a sigh, "in england, i could walk into a pub and guys would buy me beer legally. i miss it."

"it's a healthy mix of rock and sand, but i found a beach that has barely any rocks and a bunch of people to look at me as i tan so it's a win-win."

"same, honestly. i went shopping before i moved here and thought the beaches here would actually be nice so i thought i'd go there a lot but i've been like twice. but it's gonna be hot today so i thought, why not?" esme shrugged, "besides, there are so many cute little shops right near the shore."
"i can't believe summer is almost over," esme said with a frown. "can we go to the beach? we won't have time when school starts."

âI guess so.. Iâve been pretty busy though so..â he shrugged. âYeah, weâre still together. Theyâre around here somewhere. I havenât been up to much though, same olâ stuff. Music, sex, and getting into troubleâ he laughed. âWe should hang out sometime and catch upâ
"that sounds fun. i should've become a roadie. all of the music, sex, and drugs without any of the stress," she laughed. "we definitely should. god, it's been so long since i've been to a concert. are you playing anytime soon?"

He chuckled and nodded his head âYes, it did, it can tend to do that thoughâ he agreed. âYeah, Iâve probably put on at least a foot since you last seen me. You look great.â he smiled. âSame, Iâll be a junior this year too. Iâve only been here a little over a month.â
"holy crap, i must've just missed you. it's been about a month for me too, but at least the next two years we have together will make up for the time we missed." she paused, "so... what've you been up to for two years? is the band still together?"

After hearing her name he could see the familiar girl inside her features. âOh, shit! Youâve changed.â he stated, finally realizing who she was. âItâs actually Quentin Destjeor now, I took my birth name back recently. How have you been?â
"yeah, i know. puberty did wonders on my face," she shrugged with a small smile. "you haven't changed a bit. well, besides the fact that you were little quentin back then and now you're obviously not," she looked him up and down to take in his tall stature. "i've been well. i'm starting here as a junior. have you been here long?"
âHey could you help me Iâm looking for this dorm room but I canât find it.â
âhm? oh yeah, let me see,â esme said as she looked down at the paper. âthis is right down the hall from my room, follow me,â she smiled and motioned for beth to follow her. âis this your first year?â

âNah, but I did play a few gigs at that teen bar right across the way. Did you ever go there?â he asked, biting on his bottom lip.
"yeah, i went there once for a concert about two years ago... wait," she studied quentin's face for a second before realizing who he was. "holy shit! quentin sage! iâm the girl from backstage, esme alluri. where've you been hiding for two years?" she squealed.

Quentin laughed as she pretended not to know his name. âyeah, Quentin..â he nodded. âOh, you have, have you? Thatâs funny. I was just stalking your twitter as wellâ he admitted. She looked oddly familiar but, he couldnât place where he could possibly know her from. âDid you go to Loyola?â
"loyola? no..." esme thought back to what she had been doing before applying to silver oak. "i spent a couple of summers in new york before i came here, did you work at that huge mall in manhattan?"

âHey.. Itâs not problemâ he replied looking up from his phone as she bent down to retrieve hers. âIt didnât break did it?â he questioned before realizing she was the familiar girl from twitter. âYeah.. Esme, right?â he asked with a smile.
"nope, all good," she replied. esme nodded, "yeah, you're... quincy? quan?â she paused, âwait, wait. it's quentin, right?" she chuckled, "i'm kidding. i've been stalking your twitter since we talked trying to figure out where i know you from." she rubbed the back of her neck and put her phone back in her pocket. "what a cliche way to meet, huh?"

esme was scrolling through her twitter feed as she walked out towards the common room. without realizing it, she had bumped into a body and dropped her phone. "ah, shit. sorry," she mumbled as she crouched down to pick it up. esme looked at the face of the person she had bumped into and realized it was the guy from twitter, "hey. you're the familiar guy."
